British Airways business seats

Hi

I am sure I've read on here that if you are in BA business that some seats require you to climb over the person next to you if their bed is flat?

Can someone confirm this or have I dreamed it?

Thanks

Yes that is the configuration in BA Club World. Most seats are affected by that unless you are on the aisle or the bulkhead (and then in many cases it will be someone else climbing over you).

BA Club World on a 777

It is quite difficult to describe but you don't step over the person next to you but if you are in a window seat you have to step over the foot stool of the aisle seat diagonally opposite in the previous row. It is awkward, however, on the new A350 BA Club Suites this problem has been overcome. It will be a long time before this seating configuration will be introduced on leisure routes such as Orlando, Tampa etc.

However, the cabins are getting refreshed to a new seat and no climbing over

As long as everyone remembers to wear their masks and also uses their hand sanitiser and good manners it really should be fine. I’m interested to see what happens to couples from the same household sitting together anywhere else though.

Yes, though as stanleycamel notes upthread, it will be a long time before they reach the LGW 777 fleet, if at all.

Depending on fleet utilisation post-Covid and/or whether BA operates the LGW routes from LHR for any length of time, there might be a chance of getting Club Suites due to equipment changes, but one would not want to count on it. The dance known as the BA Stepover will still be around for some time to come...

I can see this set up on the seating plan for my Tokyo flight next year, it’s exciting!

I always take an aisle seat if I can, but have never had an issue if I’ve had to climb over - I am 5’10 though so ease might depend on height!
