Fundraising ideas for scout group
Hi
So I have recently agreed to be part of a fundraising committee for our local scout group that my son attends. We have an annual Summer BBQ that is just open to families that attend the group, with garden games and outdoor fun.We also hold a Halloween Disco with a takeaway and a family quiz afterwards, this is open to everyone in our local community and is our biggest fundraiser. We are now looking at perhaps holding a Valentines Disco for the kids with another fundraising event taking place straight afterwards for the adults too. As we already have a quiz night for Halloween, we are keen to try something different but not too time consuming as it’s our first event since taking over the fundraising. Any ideas from dibbers would be great Thanks |

Our Scout group do a car wash service on the car park of the local War Memorial club. Usually takes up most of a Saturday but scouts book a time slot to attend via MyScout. Homemade cakes and drinks are also sold. Have to say Beavers, Cubs and Scouts love doing it

How about a race night? Or if you are looking at Valentines could you do romantic meals for 2 with the scouts serving (would perhaps allow the parents a romantic meal without having to get babysitters!

Bag packing at the local supermarket usually raises a lot of money. Our scout group also run the refreshments stall at the local park fete, which is their biggest fundraiser.

Bag packing at our local supermarket is a great fundraiser for the scout group my son attends. Do you have Scout Post in your area? This has another great fundraiser for the group, both selling the stamps and delivering the cards.

A beetle night is always good fun and raises money.
I am chairwoman of our pca and annually we do a 10k which raises on average £10K |

As others have said bag packing is a great way to raise money. My youngest son raised enough over a year to pay for his trip to Arizona. It was a few years ago now for him but I still see scouts packing bags and they always get a big tip from me. Ex scouts in particular used to give generously - often £10 donations.

Our figure skating Club raised £7000 in a month last year. We did a lot of bag packs. Had a Halloween fair with stalls / tombola etc. A big raffle. Sponsored skate. Quiz night.

Race Nights always raised quite a few £’s when we were fundraising for the kids football team.
If you also ‘sell’ the horses & races it raises additional funds. Well worth paying for a professional company to come in & do it for you. The one we used always got the crowd involved in addition to working out the winnings etc in seconds. Edited at 08:50 PM. |

Also find our group do well out of bag packing, although it's.my least favourite thing to do. A bingo night raised about £900 recently for us. Sponsored anything always works, especially ones you can tie into badges for the kids - think beach or park clean etc. Bake sales/ coffee mornings/ table top sales also good
