Food cost when staying in a villa.

Been a couple of times to Florida and just went out to eat every night.

But next time we would be on a budget and plan to eat at the Villa.

If you have done the same, how much did you end up spending on food for your family?

Thanks

It really depends on what you want to buy and were you buy it from, Walmart is generally cheaper than Publix but now you also have Aldi to shop at as well.

You will get plenty of choice no matter were you shop, you can sign up for coupons for Publix but you will need a vpn to get on the Publix website, you can also get coupons for Walmart.

We always found it cheaper to eat out than buy groceries and then cook. Supermarkets seem very expensive over there. The most we have ever done is buy a hot chicken and some salad.

We always find food shopping to be very expensive in Florida. There are so many budget restaurants that it is cheaper to eat out. I know that’s not answering your question, sorry!

Costs will very much depend where you shop so I’ll start with what we find ( we are lucky have all,of these within minutes of the villa)
Cheapest
Aldi/Dollar General Market
Walmart
Winne Dixie my store of choice due to loyalty programme /offers
Publix
Fresh Market
Whole foods
For 2of us and we eat in apart from maybe one meal out a week I’m on average $70 a week
Biggest expense is meat and some fresh veg and fruit
I use a local farmers market for most of that only buying what I can’t get at the supermarket
Don’t discount Dollar Tree many have really good food sections for the staples certainly like salt pepper tomatoe ketchup pasta cooking oil if you use it toilet roll kitchen roll washing up liquid dishwasher tablets
You will find named brands as well as there own
They also have a frozen food section
You will find it mote expensive than home depending on what you buy
We do tend to take fruit and snacks to the parks as well as our own water etc
I’ve just dug out our food shopping bill for 2of us for 6 weeks just home 2weeks ago
$450 this was for every thing including alcohol toiletries cleaning stuff
Laundry detergent and fruit/veg from the farmers market
Hope this helps

Depends on what you want to do. We had a villa last year and supposed to be in a few weeks but we bought food from supermarkets for breakfasts and snacks really. We went to dinner at night and rarely had lunches

We normally budget $100.00 a day to include two meals a day some in the villa and some eating out.
That figure also includes wine and beers for around the pool

Probably 1 😀

An off-site restaurant is $100 for 4 people with drinks.
