New 2020 booking thing for Disney

Is this true?

1. No park hopping. You can book one park per day.
2. No waterparks.

So you pay £400 for a WDW 14 day ultimate and don't have ANY waterparks and now not able to park hop?

Come on Disney, I know it might be necessary (although isn't volcano bay and aquatica opening?) but lets see some sort of discount here.

It's not just that - it's no EMH, no dining plans, no fastpasses, no parades, fireworks, character greets etc..

disneyworld/experience-updates/

I think discounts will be the last thing on their minds. They will be opening with heavily restricted capacity and they need people not to go.

Yes, not ideal. I guess £400 is still cheaper than buying tickets once you are in the States.

Might be worth avoiding Disney for the next 12 months and go to Universal/Sea World

It looks like Typhoon Lagoon may well be open according to other posts.

I go October - Typhoon Lagoon is coming up as open on MDE in October but I know that doesn’t necessarily mean it will be.

The park hopping gets me most but with shorter hours there’s less time anyway.
For example, despite the trip being in October, I had already made a first draft plan and it involved hopping, so for example I know MK is quite good on MNSSHP days - it’s often a bit quieter because of the shorter hours, so one of my days was going their until about 4 when they start letting party ticket holders in and hop on over to another park. Likewise on water park day, going into a park for the evening.

Then again if capacity is so much less I guess the fewer hours and lack of hopping won’t have such an impact... I’m very interested to see how this pans out in October.

I can’t get any kind of voucher or refund yet (booked hotel and flights with BA, ticket from Disney itself) so I’ve just got to wait. But I don’t like the no hopping rule at all.

Wonder if WDW will say, well we offered to move tickets to 2021 so you chose to still come here?

I think they would be happy for people to cancel and rebook.

At the moment, we don't know the full details about the park reservation system. It's believed there will be no park hopping each day. We don't know whether you'll be able to book a park for every day you're there - you may only be able to book some of the days you're there. There's been nothing about when the waterparks will reopen. Plus, there's reduced hours at the parks, reduced capacity, no shows, no fireworks, no parade, no character meets, etc.

We are currently living in unprecedented times where a virus has killed over 100,000 Americans in 3 months and killed many others around the world. Disney either had to reopen under these restrictions or stay closed. You can choose whether or not you want to go based on the information provided.

Discounting the tickets is the exact opposite of what they want to do. There will be a significantly reduced capacity at the parks so Disney doesn't want to attract more guests. In fact it probably wants to put people off from visiting. And Disney still needs to make a profit from those reduced numbers of guests. If it doesn't make a profit then there's no point in reopening. They aren't going to run the parks at a loss. I wouldn't be surprised if Disney increased the cost of tickets when they restart selling them.

Well, erm, yes.

They've told you about all the restrictions and limitations. They've let you know that a visit to the parks won't be as good as it normally is. The parks will be missing a lot of things you would normally enjoy. If you choose to pay £400 per person and still go this year then you do so knowing what to expect.

Or you can choose not to go this year.
