Any Advice on our plans?...Mind has gone blank!

Hi,

So we are booked to go in September this year, staying onsite at POR. We also have upgraded to the Dining Plan.
We have done a rough draft of out itinerary...and I keep looking at the question marks on here, and my mind has gone completely blank! We are a family of 5. 2 adults and 3 children (13,7,3)
Any Help is appreciated.

Ok so here it is:

DAY 1: Arrive at the hotel, unpack, chill out, and grab some tea, early night ready for a full day tomorrow. ( We had a first full day packed on our last trip, and it was too much for the kids)

DAY 2: Reservations at CRT for 09:10, Magic Kingdom for the day Crystal Palace reservations for 1:30pm and QS for a late tea.

Day 3:Animal Kingdom, with reservations at Boma for 09am. (We are travelling with another family, and meeting them there for breakfast)
Animal Kingdom for the day, Yak and Yeti reservation for 1pm, and Rainforest Café for 6pm.

DAY 4: Breakfast at the hotel, then off to Hollywood Studios for the day. Hopefully get a QS at Woody Lunch Box, and Sci-Fi Dining reservation for 6:40pm.

DAY 5: Breakfast at the hotel, then ? and reservations at Beaches and Cream for 7:20pm

DAY 6: Breakfast at the hotel, Typhoon Lagoon for the day, and Disney Springs for reservations at T-Rex for 6pm.

DAY 7:Reservations at 1900 Park Fare for Breakfast at 0935. Then ? and the Hoop De Doo Show for 8:30pm.

DAY 8: Cape May Café reservation at 09:35am, Epcot for the day, and reservation for Rose and Crown at 6pm.

DAY 9:***My sons Birthday!*** His choice for the day, so Animal Kingdom it is! Chef Mickey for Breakfast at 09:05, Tuskers House Rivers of Light Package for 530pm.

DAY 10: Shopping Day! Lunch out in the malls, and Be our Guest Reservation for 640pm.

DAY 11: We decided to have a wander to Celebration for the morning, then relax by the pool for the afternoon, and reservations for 50s Prime Time Café at 6:05pm.

DAY 12: We might possibly go to Universal Studios, but this is something that we are still in discussions with. We also might be doing Discovery Cove, and with the package we are looking at you also get SeaWorld Admission, so this could be on this day.

DAY 13:Ohana Booked for 0955am for breakfast. Then ? possible pool day? and we have tickets for MNSSHP for the evening.

DAY 14: Possible Discovery Cove.

DAY 15: ?

DAY 16: Travel Home.

Would Love some ideas for the ? days

Many Thanks!

For day 5 I would do morning in the pool then over to epcot for the afternoon before heading to beaches and cream ( beaches and cream is walkable from the world showcase exit...No more than 10 mins walk) I see that you have another day planned at epcot so you could split days between world showcase and future world.

For day 7 I would do a few hrs in MK since you are over that way...it's just a couple of stops on the monorail, perhaps catch the parade and then leave. Can never have too much time in MK!

Day 13 I probably wouldn't do a pool day as you are having discovery cove either side. I would probably do more time in Hollywood studios especially with the new additions there it may be busy so you may struggle to get it all done in a day (plus we love HS). Would maybe drop the Ohana breakfast or swap to earlier as otherwise not much time.

Day 15. Depends if you decided on universal or sea world on day 12. If universal then would have another day there maybe or aquatica if you have this included with your sea world tickets

You may also need to look at your dining as I have counted 20 credits needed p/p, may be better to swap some out for QS or you will end up paying OOP

Sounds like you'll be having a great time!

If you have UK WDW tickets that include the mini golf I would include a round at each course. So you could go to Fantasia Mini golf on day 5 (you have to go before 4.00 pm ) then walk over to the Boardwalk to have a look around and then enjoy beaches n cream.

You could then go to the course near Blizzard Beach on another day.

If you do get the tickets for DC then you could easily go to SW for 2 shorter days.

I would also go to MK again on Day 7 after your breakfast at the GF.

Agree I think you've made too many ADRs if you only want to use credits to pay. If some are planned OOP (or Landry's) it might be OK.

But speaking of food, I'm full just reading day 3. Three TS in a day? I would cancel Y&Y, or move it to dinner if that's a must do. RC could move to another day, particularly if you go to the DS one instead of AK as you then don't have to work it into a park day.

I think day 2 has too much food as well with TS breakfast and lunch, although you could push CP to dinner if you think you'll last that long. Which helps my next problem that I'm not seeing any non-party evenings in MK to see HEA? Definitely a must do for me!

Generally, I don't think you have enough MK time as I'm only seeing one day plus the party. It's realistically at least a two day park, especially if you're not planning full days. So I would add that into at least one of the ? slots.

ETA: I wouldn't put Chef Mickey's on your son's birthday unless he specifically requested that as you'll lose a lot of time travelling between POR, CR and AK just for a breakfast. I'd put that on a MK day, move TH to breakfast (you can still get the ROL package at breakfast) and maybe have RC/Y&Y in the evening from the cancelled day 3 one.

Edited at 04:54 PM.

I agree you probably want more than one day in MK as there is so much to see and do.

As you are at POR, you could always take the boat trip to Disney Springs on day 5 and have a mooch round there. There's the huge World of Disney store (if your booking includes a gift card, you collect it here), a Lego store and lots of other shops and food options for lunch. Or you could have some pool time at the resort in the day.

Were you planning on catching the nightime fireworks at MK or Iluminations in Epcot? If so,factor the late nights in too.

If you decide on Discovery Cove,I'd bring that day forward if you can just in case you need to reschedule due to rain (it is hurricane season then) that way, you get more options.

Unless you can make more time for Universal, I'd save that for another trip. The tickets are expensive and, in my opinion, one day cannot do it justice.

I agree with the above posters that you have far too many TS meals. You may struggle to eat two on Day 2, let alone the three you have booked for Day 3. TS meals are expensive and paying out of pocket will cost you around $150.

There are some fab QS places now and I would use those instead of ending up with loads of unused QS credits at the end of your stay.

I'd also save Universal (and possibly DC etc) for another trip, to give you more time to do Disney, as there's so much to do. All the evening shows are a must and HS is likely to be packed as Toy Story Land is opened, so an extra session in all the parks is advisable.

You'll be able to take your time and not feel pressured into trying to see it all, before rushing off to the next set of parks.

Have a great trip.

Agree with everything posted, especially the amount of sit down meals. That is a lot of food at Table Service places. I don't know -maybe you're on the Deluxe Plan with the extra Table Service credits?

We were very fortunate when our children were younger. They were well behaved and sat at Table Services despite it being more for grown ups. They wanted to be off doing other things. I think even they would have struggled with 3 sit down meals in a day though. Plus it'll cost an arm and a leg on top of your dining plan if not on Deluxe

I know you've been before but I have to ask (it's surprising how many people don't realise)but... you realise that Boma isn't in the AK theme park? Totally separate location. At the AKL resort. I'm sure you do, it's just the way it's written, it sounds like Boma is in the theme park. By the time you've eaten at Boma and travelled to AK, it'll be nearly time to sit down at Y&Y.

You're packing a lot in and maybe when (or if) you prune back the amount of TS ADRs it will give you more flexibility for some R&R and to cut back on some of the long days you have planned.

For the ? days. Why don't you spread it out instead of doing whole days at theme parks. Little ones will get grizzly and it will likely become a chore rather than an enjoyment. You have to stay because it's in the itinerary to have your 3rd meal of the day as it's been booked anyway. No one will have any appetite and too shattered to eat anyway. Been there. learnt from it. Never again.

It's one of the beauties of staying onsite. Do a morning. Come back to resort and chill. Go out again if batteries charged. Or have a lazy morning and go somewhere in the afternoon/evening. I'm a big planner - I just make sure to plan in lots of R&R to make the rest enjoyable.

Yes the lack of time at MK and too many ADRs stand out. Well just days 2 & 3 for the ADRs. Three TS in one day is probably going to be too much.

Also I don’t think I would do CRT and Crystal Palace on the same day as both character experiences so I think I would like to spread them out a bit more. Perhaps if you slot in another MK day you could do one on each.

Did you already get Tusker House ROL for 5.30pm? That is a difficult time to get.
