:) **Smiley Kylie Goes Solo Nov 2017- Day 6- Disney Springs & Magic Kingdom**

>>> INDEX HERE

Monday 6th November

The plan today was to wake up at 7am head to Disney Springs, then spend the afternoon/evening in Magic Kingdom and hopefully stay for the goodnight kiss. Today was a solo day so just me myself and I which I was actually happy with. I think spending the last few days with my dibb friends had boosted my confidence a little bit and I could appreciate the time to myself more. I actually ended up waking up at 8:30am, I could have slept longer though. After our long day yesterday I was feeling tired and achey. My feet felt like Ibiza feet and by that I mean they were throbbing as soon as they touched the floor, I could not feel my toes, the painful memories of being out from 6pm until 6am in Ibiza came flooding back, my god I’m getting old, it would take me at least a week to get over that now! I hobbled to the window to see what the weather was saying, once I saw that it was foggy and drizzling outside I didn’t feel so bad about waking up later. I decided to spend the morning in the room just chilling out and having a bit of ‘me time’. My hair was in need of a wash, after yesterday’s heat I woke up looking like this.

Sexy I know. I couldn’t be bothered going to the food court for breakfast so I figured out how to boil water from the coffee maker and made myself a cup of tea with the twinings I’d stolen last night. I was lucky to have a coffee maker as these were only in the newly refurbished rooms. I sat in bed drinking my tea and eating cookies for breakfast. And I wonder why I’ve put on a stone since being back!

I spent some time looking through holiday photos and watching friends. I love friends so much I’ve seen it god knows how many times and still laugh. Ross is my favourite! Who’s yours? I messaged my friends back home and had a nosy on social media to see how miserable everyone was in the cold and rain. Then on my ‘on this day’ on Facebook these 2 photos popped up. Funny to think that I’d been to Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom this same day in 2014 and 2015. I’m so lucky really that I’ve been able to have several holidays to Disney World, some people can’t even go once.

I was quite indecisive this morning about wether to bother going to Disney Springs or just head straight to MK. After consulting my itinerary I realised that this would probably be the only time to really visit Disney Springs during the day so I chose to stick to the plan. I pottered around the room, had the best shower and just enjoyed doing nothing for a couple of hours. I didn’t bother attending to my hair as the heat would ruin it anyway so today I stuck with my natural curls/frizz.

I left the room and headed for the bus stops where I could see a Disney Springs bus pulling up so I had to run. I hate running, I was glad to have my comfy treds on! The journey to the Springs felt a lot quicker than the other night where it seemed to take an age! I was there at 11:35 and could tell already that it was much quieter than the Saturday night! I actually had time to walk at a leisurely pace taking in the new sights and shops rather than dodging in and out of people nearly committing physical assault. It was also so much easier in the daylight! I could see where I was going and pinpoint the correct way to get back to the buses, I used the Kate spade shop as my reference point. I really liked the new layout of the Springs, it all looked very plush and it felt a little like the outlets. I did find myself gravitating towards the world of Disney/earl of sandwich/Christmas shop areas as I know this area well and felt more in my comfort zone here.

I didn’t want to spend too much of the afternoon shopping as I had a be our guest lunch reservation at like 2pm which I didn’t want to miss. I made sure to go to basin which I absolutely love. I always like to fill up one of the tubes with bath bombs and buy some soap bars which I never actually use! I used some of the soap scrub too which smelt lush, I wish I’d have bought it now, my hands were so soft all day. It was quite funny because I was trying to squeeze as many bath bombs as I could into the tube to get my moneys worth and I could not fit the lid on! I took it to the till anyway and the guy tried rearranging them to fit them in but without any success so he called upon his colleague who was rearranging like her life depended on it She managed to do it though!

I had a quick mooch around world of Disney but didn’t see anything I particularly wanted. One thing I did want were the rose gold Minnie ears, but I literally could not find them anywhere! They were so popular that the minute a new lot came in they were gone! Another thing I had on my list was to get myself a new lady pillow pet. I’d gotten one in 2015 and slept with it every night since, it’s so soft and comfortable! This time though I noticed that there wasn’t as much selection as last time for the pillow pets. I couldn’t find Lady anywhere so I settled for Eeyore instead. He was soft and felt similar to Lady, plus he was grey so went better with my room. I’m 29 with a pillow pet, what a sad sack. This world of Disney shop is far too big for me, I get so lost in here and always end up going out of a different exit to the way I came in! There’s just too much merchandise as well, I get overwhelmed and then don’t end up buying much if anything at all! I always make sure to stop and take a look at the amazing ceilings though!

I was weary of the time so didn’t visit the Christmas or art shop but made a mental note to make time later on in the holiday for them. Instead I headed to Sephora. I’d heard so many wonderful things about this place and I’d liked what I saw the other night just it was too busy to have a proper look! Well today it was lovely and quiet in there!

My god this shop sells everything beauty related! It’s every woman’s or drag queens dream, well or blokes in this day and age! Make up, perfume, face products, nail and hair stuff, other useless crap, if you wanted it then it was somewhere in here! I’m not the biggest make up lover if I’m honest. I used to be! But as I’ve gotten older I tend not to bother, I’d rather spend the extra half hour in bed! I do love lipsticks though and always like to have a decent mascara! I spent a little while in here picking things up putting them back and circling around the shop about 10 times, pretty sure I must have looked like a shop lifter. I ended up just getting a couple of things, a foot mask which I haven’t used yet, some benefit mascara and some lip plumper thing. No idea how much I paid for this, that’s the fun of using your magic band to pay, you don’t worry about the cost until later I do know though that I paid $5 for the foot mask.

The benefit mascara is the best I’ve used, I have long curly eyelashes anyway so this just enhanced them, I’m quite fussy with mascara brushes but this one did the job perfectly. It’s lasted me ages too! The random lip plumper was an impulse buy, I’m lucky that I already have full lips so they looked even bigger with this gloss on, pout on point Anyway I’m sure I’m boring you all with the make up talk so I’ll move on… to MAC makeup This is where I went next as it was only a few doors away. I love MAC products and have so many of the lipsticks/lip pencils and at £17.50/£14 I could quite possibly open my own shop. I didn’t go over the top though in here but I could have! I found the lip duo of the ruby woo colour which I love, picked up a new lip prep & prime and then some strobe cream too. The ladies that work in here are stunning (well with make up on, they might look dog rough without it!) I felt like a right munter walking in with my big hair and sweaty freckly face. I hate walking through make up departments in the big stores I feel like everyone is looking at your face and judging it. They were friendly in here though and tried to sell me more than what I wanted perhaps being over friendly which winds me up, so fake. My god I get wound up with rude people and friendly people, I’m a hard one to please

It was nearing on 1pm now so I had to get a shifty on if I wanted to make my lunch reservation. I found Kate Spade and walked down the side of it coming out to where the buses were. This was much easier than walking all the way up to cirque de soleil and getting lost like the other night. I trecked the 20 miles to Pop’s bus stop and was feeling so hot, luckily I’d not made an effort with how I looked. The bus came at 13:10 and I was back in my room by half past.

It was just a brief stop though to drop off my shopping. I also discovered a short cut from the bus stop to my room it was much quicker than walking through the lobby area, I just walked straight across the car park and there I was, much quicker! Once the bags were dumped it was back to the bus stop, again I had to run as the bus looked like it was about to leave. I got on at 13:36 precisely and was on my way to Magic Kingdom.

The journey was pretty uneventful as well as bag check. I made sure to get a photopass pic in front of the entrance with the railroad train in the background. I like to watch others getting their photos taken too and it makes me laugh that sometimes families just stand miles apart from each other without even smiling, my god guys act like you love each other and your in Disney World… wait you are! Their faces would suggest otherwise. I put my bag down by the photographers tripod and some dinny woman just tripped straight over it nearly going flat on her face, I didn’t feel the need to apologise she should look where she’s going.

I realised it had gone 2pm now so I was past my reservation time for be our guest. Oops! I also realised that the parade had begun so I sped walked up main street to avoid it before it arrived here. I think I got to be our guest at about 2:20pm. I checked in and was given a yellow rose and told to go ahead to the entrance. They didn’t mention about me being late which I was thankful for.

It was a bit of a pain once inside as I was told to join the queue to go in and make my order. I was confused as I’d already pre-ordered what I wanted a month ago and usually a cast member would confirm this and you’d go and plonk yourself down somewhere. But for some reason this wasn’t happening today so I queued up with everyone else.

I was starving by now! The last thing I’d eaten were the cookies this morning so I was more than ready for lunch. Ordering this on the kiosk was annoying, I’d rather just speak to a human but instead had to figure out how it all worked with using a quick service credit and snack credit for my soup. I was representing the really slow idiotic lack of common sense people whilst in here and needed a cast member to come and help me. Once sorted I dashed out of there to find me a table in the grand ballroom. I always like to sit in here, the west wing is too dark I like to see what I’m eating! And the castle gallery area is just a bit too canteen like for me, I feel like I get the whole experience in the ballroom. It was coming to the end of lunchtime too so it felt less hectic and noisy in here.

For lunch I chose to have the French onion soup to start with and the croque monsieur after with a lemonade. I’ve had both of these before and love them! The soup, my god all that cheese on the top is just so yum, could get a heart attack from just looking at it! Also I only discovered like last year that they do actually do croque monsieurs in England! How did I not know this?! How did I think that I could only eat this at Disney’s be our guest restaurant?! What a numpty I am! My lunch soon arrived as if my Magic (I still wonder how on Earth they find where I’ve decided to sit!) and I started tucking in. It was just as delicious as I’d remembered! If you’re on the dining plan I’d deffo recommend lunch here, it’s such a good use of a snack credit and not your usual fast food jobby.

I couldn’t manage it all and felt guilty for leaving some of it. But it was either that or be comatosed. Afterwards I made sure to explore the other rooms and take photos as this would be the last time I was here this trip. The restaurant was clearing out quickly so I didn’t feel so awkward going round taking photos whilst people were trying to eat. The cast members were setting the tables out ready for the dinner reservations. I’ve had dinner here before but didn’t rate it, we felt really rushed and I didn’t like much of the menu! Apologies for the blurry lens!

With my belly full, me and my food baby left and were soon back in the sunshine. I stopped to get some photo pass photos with beasts castle and he threw in a magic shot with Lumiere in my hand. These photos look hideous but I shall include them anyway.

I was feeling brave today and wanted to meet some characters on my own. I was adamant that I wasn’t going to do a runner like I had in Animal Kingdom with Russell. I headed to new fantasyland into storybook circus to meet Goofy and Donald. This area was quite busy, the kids were loving the water play area. I felt like running in there myself but figured it would look weird just me playing in the water on my own. The standby line to meet Goofy and Donald was posted as 20 minutes which I didn’t mind waiting.

It took way longer than 20 mins though more like 40. I became so impatient whilst queuing and I was so bored on my own. I played a game in my head where I had to guess by looking at people if they were American or British. It was so obvious as most of the British people had primarni sandals on, or football shirts on, one girl even had shorts right up her crack, the camel toe was something I wished I hadn’t seen. I had to get close enough to these people though to ear wig and hear their accent to confirm if I was correct or not. Wow, the things you do when you’re alone. My turn came to meet Goofy, as I was nearing closer I felt a bit nervous. It wasn’t about meeting him, it was because the whole line could see my interaction with him and I hate the feeling that I’m being watched. Goofy gave me a big hug, I asked what happened to his bike and he said it was Donald’s fault. Donald was so cute but I felt like a right big oaf stood next to him. He kissed my hand and was telling me I was beautiful or so the cast member said, I was thinking Donald mate I didn’t realise you were blind.

I had a fastpass at 3:30pm for the little mermaid ride so didn’t want to venture too far away. I was happy to see that the Main Street Philarmonic Band were just heading into storybook circus to perform so I made sure to stop and watch them. This is something I always try to do on each trip. I don’t think these guys get enough credit or appreciation. I’ve seen so many people just look and walk by without paying attention, I love to stop and singalong to what they’re playing. They’re so talented and I’m sure some of them have been doing it for years as I recognised them from previous trips. They all have such a good relationship with each other and are so friendly waving to people and getting others involved, they introduce each other too which I feel is a great personal touch. Today they played songs from jungle book to Mary poppins, I really enjoyed them. I did not however enjoy the little kid stood in front of them attempting to perform some sort of breakdance. I could see that other spectators thought he was cute and were clapping him along, I just found him well annoying and he kept getting in the way of my photos the little ≈≈≈≈≈≈. I was absolutely baking stood there in the sun!

It was now time for my little mermaid fastpass so headed straight there. This ride definitely gets you singing for sure. It’s always a good little ride and there’s lots to look at, if only it wasn’t ruined by the inconsiderate incapable of following instructions flash on camera lady.

Next was my buzz light year fastpass so I headed into Tomorrowland. It was busy here, the queue for fastpass was ridiculous and actually took quite a long time. The queue was uneventful I played my are they English or American game and was soon on the ride. This ride is not as enjoyable on your own! As I’ve said before I’m a competitive person so having nobody to compete with was rubbish. I’d researched beforehand how on Earth people get the galactic hero score on here. The closest I got was 152,200

I didn’t have any real plans of what to do next, everywhere was so busy with long standby times. I looked on mde to see which fastpasses were available and there was one to meet Ariel in her grotto so I booked that. I had some time to kill before it and saw that the monsters inc laugh floor attraction was posted as a 10 minute wait. Well 40 minutes later I was still in the queue losing the will to live. I was at that stage where I was ready to leave but I’d already queued so long and didn’t want to waste that time. So there I stood on my own watching people and listening to the bratty kid behind me. Who, by the way wiped slobber on my back. I’m sure it wasn’t intentional but all I could feel was a wet patch on my backs bare skin. I was longing to get my antibacterial gel out and wash my back. For what felt like hours later I was finally entering the theatre making sure to go to the end of the row unlike some other idiotic people who would just stop halfway. How is it possible that people cannot follow simple instructions. And don’t judge me on this but I always found it was the Spanish that just ignored what they were being told. I would make a terrible cast member, you would just hear me yelling at guests or escorting them out. The show started, made everyone laugh, some woman was over laughing way too much. I sat there hoping and praying that my face would not appear on the screens at the front instructing me to do something. This happened in 2013 when I had to pretend to have antlers and I didn’t even know what they were. That was not a good experience for me.

It was about 5:30pm when I got out of here and the sun was going down. I went to Main Street to check out the Christmas lights which were so pretty. My photography skills are so good here, damn that smudged lens! My photos do not do the lights justice. I had a couple of photopass pictures taken too. Christmas taping was happening in front of the castle which is what the extra lighting is.

I headed to Ariel’s grotto for my meet and greet which I was a little nervous for. I’m always the same when it comes to talking characters, I never know what to say and usually don’t understand what they are even talking about. I wish I was one of these who could just chat away and have a genuine conversation without feeling heart palpitations, nervous laughing or mixing my words up. It’s even worse when you’re on your own. Meeting Ariel didn’t feel awkward though! She said how she loved my hair and I said I was finding it hard to control in the heat so she advised me to use saltwater and a dinglehopper I found it easier talking to her because there wasn’t a queue full of people watching. The area is really cute and intimate and I didn’t feel rushed at all. I look like a sweaty mess with a big meat head in the photos though compared to Ariel.

After here I was at a loose end and didn’t know what to do. I was in need of a drink so headed to Gaston’s tavern where I picked up a water and sat outside for a while to rest my feet and make some sort of plan on what to do next. I knew I wanted to get the tangled lantern photo which I would make sure to do. I checked mde again for fastpasses and booked one for dumbo. I still needed to eat so would find somewhere later before the fireworks started. The park was looking so pretty now, it was nearly dark and the skies looked lovely. I made my way round to the lantern photopass line for about 6:15pm and it was already really long.

It was about a half hour wait in total which went quick as I got chatting to a nice welsh lady and her boy. She was so impressed that I’d come on my own. We chatted about the weather back home, where we were from, our holidays so far etc, she was a lovely lady. We could feel ourselves getting bitten to death whilst stood there though! Her husband joined her when she was at the front of the queue, he just chilled on a bench until then the cheeky sod. He said hello to me and then we said our goodbyes. I was instructed to stand on the x on the floor and the cast member handed me the lantern and told me where to look, how to hold it etc. These were the results.

I saw the photos and immediately hated them! The lighting really was not working in my favour! My tummy looked bloated, my lazy eye was noticeable, the double chin was on top form and my hair looked awful. I made a mental note to come back another day to re do the photo! It was time for my dumbo ride fastpass. This ride is over so quickly! I had memories of me and Carley coming on here for our first ride of the holiday in 2016 and how excited we were to have 3 whole weeks of fun ahead of us. I didn’t feel so excited on my own though. And I was told off for not putting my belt on! Because I may have fallen out and died with the dangerous speed of the ride But safety first of course.

I was now in need of food so headed towards Casey’s corner for a hotdog. En-route I stopped for a photo pass picture.

The castle looked so pretty and I did wonder why the blue projection was already on, it was a few hours until the fireworks yet. It had something to do with the Xmas taping stuff, some guy kept coming on stage saying that something fantastic and new was going to happen bla bla. So I waited and waited and waited some more and nothing happened. I just stood looking at this for at least half an hour.

I got fed up and continued to Casey’s. This gaff was rammed! So many people, so loud and chaotic. I thought about going elsewhere but figured most places would be the same so I just got in line and waited. I chose to have the foot long hotdog topped with mac & cheese and bacon with fries and a coke. This meal was huge, enough for 2 people and a definite good use of a quick service credit.

I know right, that’s a few pounds added onto my weight! It was so tasty but I wished I had somewhere decent to sit down and enjoy it properly. Instead I had to make use of a wall which was pretty much on top of another family. I did ask and they said I was more than welcome to sit there which was kind of them. My ass killed sitting there though and the hotdog was so messy, I was dropping it all down myself. So attractive. The happily ever after fireworks were showing at 9pm tonight and it was now around 8pm so I headed into the hub to find myself a decent spot. So much easier finding a space when it’s only for me! I sat to the right of the castle on a curb and got chatting to a lady from Emerson which is in Manitoba, Canada. It makes the time go so much quicker when you find someone friendly to talk to. She was telling me how cold it was back home and that she would be greeted with snow when she gets back. She was so surprised to hear that I was in disney for nearly 2 weeks on my own and impressed that I’d come all this way on my own. She said that usually they only come for a week at a time at the most. We spoke about other holidays where she’d recently been on a Mediterranean cruise and had struggled with the change of times. She was an older lady and so sweet, we made a joke that we were stuck on the floor and couldn’t get back up so her husband helped us Finally it was time for the show! Look how busy it was.

I was glad to be on stood on the curb as nobody could really block my view, well unless there was a kid on shoulders! Which luckily for me there wasn’t. There was another lady watching and recording with her phone torch on though, fantastic. I really enjoyed the fireworks much more than the first time I’d seen it, it made me well up and I was wishing that my cousin Carley was here to watch with me.

Magic kingdom was open till 11pm tonight. After the fireworks everyone headed towards the exit. I however headed into Tomorrowland to see what the wait times were. I saw that there was no queue for the people mover so enjoyed being on here allowing time for the crowds to die down.

I had a little wander around afterwards, it was still quite busy which was not in my plan at all. I thought most people would have gone after the fireworks but we must have all had the same idea. My feet were feeling it now and I was thirsty. I’d read about the very berry hibiscus drink in Brett and Jo’s trip reports so headed to Starbucks to try one. Whilst in here I picked up the ceramic magic kingdom you are here cup which was on my list. I got the largest drink seems how I was using a snack credit, what a fab use of a snack credit by the way! It was so refreshing too!

My plan now was to wait for the kiss goodnight. This is something I had wanted to do for many trips and just never got round to it or we’d felt too tired after a long day. I found a quiet spot on the hub grass and plonked myself down. This is actually a really nice memory that sticks out in my mind, I felt so relaxed in that moment. I was sat there with the castle in front of me all lit up, was in my own little world observing everything around me and listening to the background music. I felt so content and happy. I had been bitten quite a lot and was scratching myself like I had some sort of skin disorder.

I chilled here for about 20 minutes or so and then had a little walk around. I thought I’d head round into fantasyland to see if the security guy Brett was behind the castle. I’d heard such lovely things about him and that he encourages guests to come and say hello. I couldn’t find him though which was a shame, maybe it was his night off or something. Fantasyland was so quiet, it was so nice to see it like this, without lines of strollers taking up all the space, screaming kids, families yelling at each other, people bashing into you, nearly being run down by a fat person in a mobility scooter, it was bliss. I headed back round to the front of the castle stopping for a photo on the way. I’m so tired in this pic but I love the castle angle, the reflection in the water and the full moon in the sky!

It was nearing 11:30pm now and I was beginning to wonder when this goodnight kiss would happen. I stood there with a few others who I assumed were waiting for it as well. The park was officially closed now so surely it should happen anytime now.

To my disappointment I was informed by another family that if I was waiting for the goodnight kiss that it had been cancelled because of the Xmas taping. They’d confirmed this with security. I was so annoyed, there wasn’t even an announcement to inform people, we were all just waiting around like lemons. I could see production teams taking down cameras etc so made a move down main street towards the exit. Such a shame, I was so happy with myself that I’d stayed here this long and then for it to be cancelled peed me right off I was happy that I’d got to just spend time chilling on the grass though which is something I probably wouldn’t have done if I wasn’t waiting for the goodnight kiss. I took a few photos on the way out and was surprised to see quite a lot of people still here. I remember in Disney Land Paris me and Carley had stayed to the end where there was barely anyone around at all.

I got to the bus stop at about 11:40pm and was greeted by a massive queue.

A couple of buses turned up which made me sigh with relief, it’s amazing how many people you can actually get on them! I arrived back at Pop at 12:10am, wrote up my notes and crashed into bed at 12:53am
