Help! 3 week itinerary draft?!
Hey Disney Guru's,
I am trying to plan a 3 week break with my family but need some guidance. We are going in October 2018 and consist of 2 x 60 year olds, 2 x 30 somethings, 1 x 6 year old and 1 x 3 year old. We have booked a villa and will probably purchase a 21 day Disney parks pass and a 14 day Universal one (as I can't seem to find a shorter one!). Here's what I've got so far (any help well received)... Day 1 Arrive, food shop, sleep! Day 2 AM - Magic Kingdom and Bibbidibobbidi boutique PM - Rest Day 3 AM - Epcot PM - Rest Day 4 Rest Day 5 AM - Animal Kingdom PM - Rest Day 6 AM - Rest PM - Hollywood Studios / Fantasmic fireworks Day 7 AM - Rest PM - Magic Kingdom- Happily Ever After fireworks Day 8 AM - Typhoon Lagoon Day 9 AM - PM - Epcot / Illuminations Fireworks Day 10 Rest Day 11 AM - PM - Animal Kingdom / rivers of light Day 12 Rest or Mickeys Not So Scary Halloween Party Day 13 Disney Springs Day 14 Rest Day 15 Kennedy Space Centre Day 16 Volcano bay Day 17 Universal Studios Day 18 Islands of Adventure Day 19 Rest or revisit favourite park Day 20 Islands of Adventure Day 21 Rest and home! Thank you for your wisdom! Emma |

Hi
Welcome to the dibb Firstly if you want less than 14 days at universal , check out the American sites, something like this undercovertourist/or...rlando-resort/ Personally you seem to have a lot of rest early on, and not much at the end. You will have more energy early in the holiday I would go to universal earlier in the holiday. The way you have it, if you live it, you won't leave yourself time to get extra days in Check out the busy day guide for better idea as to what days to go on. You need way more than two half days at magic kingdom , two half days at Epcot , probably more than two half days at AK, and with toy story open, maybe more than a day at HS . You need to fill in many of your rest times with parks. Fine, have a day of rest / pool/ water park every 4 days or a quieter day every 3, but you are going over the top ( appreciate you have some 60 somethings but there are plenty of places they can rest while you do stuff with the kids Use water parks as rest days. You won't need a full day at Disney springs

Thank you.
The AM and PMs are rough guides. I'm hoping they will be pretty full days...i.e. opening to mid afternoon or 1pm until the fireworks. It's hard to know whether the pensioners or children will give up first! The rest days allowed some flexibility but I'll move universal further up. Thanks for that. I'll check out that link too. |

I would also add in a visit to Blizzard Beach as well.

I agree with Buryboy you don't need as many rest days at start of holiday
You will be waking up early and be full of adrenaline If you do get cheaper Universal tickets from one of the American sites make sure you get park to park so you can ride the Hogwarts express Have you checked that HHN is not on when you plan to go to Universal Studios as if it is then park closes earlier that day

I think you could easily squeeze more in. As you have two waterparks and mainly half days, you probably don’t really need the full rest days at all.
Going for 21 days and only spending two half days at MK is a plan alien to me. If I ever was going for 21 days I would have at least eight trips to MKR in there |

I'm in my 70s and I do full days without any problems. Having travelled 4000 miles and spent so much money to get to the parks I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time resting. I can understand you taking the children back to the hotel/villa for a break. Why don't you split the baby sitting if they need that much rest so the adults get more out of the holiday.
