I’ve just found a few little things on ‘not on the high street’. So those, along with the champers and the great suggestions of M&S cake, I think that will do. Hope everyone waiting For results is not getting too stressed.

Thank you. Hopefully we haven’t been tempting fate by buying stuff for her room over the last few months so all that is sorted. We have to spend another £380 on things like scrubs and boiler suits 😳

That's wonderful to hear Janjan! I'm really pleased your boy is enjoying life at St Andrews!
I must say we really love the feel of St Andrews as a town, such a lovely atmosphere as you walk round, and the seaside just makes it even more appealing!
We are west of Edinburgh so about 1 hour 20 away, close enough for a day visit.

Best of luck to your boy in his 5th year!

We've been busy shopping this weekend for all the usual uni stuff for halls, our son will move into halls for Freshers on the 5th September! So not long at all!

As well as the usual stuff we've had to buy stethoscope, white coat, mouth to mouth equipment, soft soled shoes and outfits for clinical skills/wards, smart casual shirts and trousers as they have a kind of dress-code to adhere to.
I think we are mostly finished now apart from last bits!

A level results this Thursday?
Not long now you guys.
The very best of luck!

My nerves are shot to pieces waiting for Thursday to come around. My son seems cool but I’m worried he’s just not expressing his emotions.
Does anyone know what happens if he doesn’t get the results his uni said he requires? Will they contact him if they still want to offer him the place anyway? Or does he have to call the uni, or clearing? He needs A* A* A and I’m so worried that he will have been downgraded as historically his college isn’t that great. He is dead set on first choice right now. He’s not even considering other unis. I’m so worried about how he will react if he doesn’t get in ☹️
And I’m totally new to the whole uni experience, so feeling quite useless and unhelpful

Have a look on the vet school Facebook page Choppygirl. Quite often the 5th years are selling everything off really cheap at this time of year. DD has just picked up a load of text books and another virtually new boiler suit for a fraction of the price.

Oh bless. You may find his chosen uni offers another course if he doesn’t quite make the grades. If it’s a flat no, I would say wait until he gets his results from school then first would be to follow up with a call to his 1st choice uni then if still a no, have a look at clearing options. Did he choose a back up?

anyone else dreading a possible delay...
after the Scottish apology with "what we are going to do about it" being announced tomorrow, what implications does it hold for English results day Thursday?

I feel exactly the same, think I’ll have a few more grey hairs by Thursday! Dd was feeling confident until the Scottish results came out, now she’s really worried. She doesn’t have an insurance choice as she has a bursary from her firm choice which includes a grade reduction, also she’s set her heart on the firm choice. She’s always worked at or above the standard of the grades needed but really has no confidence that this will be reflected in the grades she receives.
