Park ticket costs

Just wondering if anyone has every noticed price fluctuations over a long period of time.
I first went to Florida in 2005 and we bought park tickets for Disney Universal and the Seaworld parks.
i have since been in 2006, 2010,2016,2017,2018 & going in 2020.

I cant remember how much we originally paid for the tickets, but i have history on the tickets in 2016 - we paid £531 for all the parks.
This year we're paying £763! now i know in 2016 volcano bay wasn't open so that is an extra park, but £230 increase over 4 years seems like a huge jump!

I'm just wondering if it has been over the past 5 years or so that the prices are rising at a much quicker rates than ever before?

(Parking prices when we went in 2005 were about $12 a day.
in 2016 in was $20
in 2017 it was $22
in 2018 it was $25

I'm hoping they don't rise again this year!

Just wanted peoples thoughts?
I mean it wont put me off going i enjoy i too much, but is this a tactic by the parks to try and out price people and reduce crowd levels?

they will, you can be sure of that


and as far as parking go, you now even pay for parking at disney hotels if you stay there.

the cold hard truth, is that people will pay that price.

you said it yourself in the bit I quoted above : "it won't put you off going because you enjoy it too much"

People will pay those prices, just like people sucked up the $250 increase for disney APs in one go.

As a profit making machine, disney will take the money as long as they find people willing to give them.

It's not about reducing the crowds, it's about milking the proverbial cash cow.

People will pay those prices, will accept the increases and still go

for each person who's been priced out, be sure that another one will show up at the gates

We've been priced out of Disney a few years ago, decided on doing universal only. Did it cross my mind to think "Too expensive, I'll show them they'll miss my money" ... hell no ... I'm sure for every dollar I did not spend at Disney's, they have found another guest who has been willing to spend $2 or more

Supply and Demand. Demand is high, supply does not really evolve (you can't stretch the park beyond capacity) ... prices goes up

and with new addiitions and plans in the making, the only sure thing is that price won't go down
(and bear in mind that the tickets we get in the UK are ultra competitive aka discounted compared to the price US visitors are facing)

no, it's not about reducing attendance
