Not everyone will feel the same. It's well worth having some proper dems, maybe from friends with full Atmos systems.

(...bit boring sorry! )
i went from a basic pro logic system (i had decent hifi speakers, so i just added a centre/sub and a new receiver), over to an active THX Certified system (dell bundled them with a high end PC we ordered for work and they were way too powerful for what we needed, so i swapped them for a £20 cheap generic set!) coupled with a receiver unit. this served me well for over 10 years, and would still be happy using it now if the amp inside the sub hadnt died.

a mate had just moved house, and had discovered the convenience of soundbars, so sold me his CA amp and kef eggs for a steal.

i've demoed atmos stuff in the past in our local richer sounds/superfi, and the demo disc sure sounds good, but for normal movie usage? i figured i would just upgrade at some point in the future because that's what you do, why go for similar when replacing?

but i'm very happy with the setup and audio quality, so yeah. i don't think i'll bother toying with additional speakers

Just read this following your link from another thread. Good to see a garage conversion looking so good, however I won't be showing my dh this as I plan to turn our integral double garage into a kitchen diner. He already has a study and a workshop not getting another room !

We also plan to have false garage doors but unfortunately we will need to get new ones, but thanks for the tip that they can be sold for scrap.
