Mobile Is 9 to old for Lapland

Wanted to take ds8 this year but due to other holidays couldn’t justify it, and now massively regretting it! He will be 9 and a half next year, still completely believed this year (so much so he cried when his elf went back to the North Pole Christmas Eve!) I’m thinking even if he has doubts next year it would still be magical?! Anyone gone with this age?

I'd go and I've got 30 + yrs on him 🤣. I'd love to take my 2 next year, 13 + 10 but just can't afford it.

Not sure it really matters whether they believe or not, but may get you an extra year or so of the magic. Good luck xx

It is magical. My two were a lot younger when they went but I think it helped them “believe” for longer. We stayed at the Santa Claus village in Rovaniemi. It was very magical seeing elves walking past at 6am in the morning with the reindeer. I did a trip advisor review which I’ll dig out for you if you like.

For me it would depend on your school tier system. If it is two tier and he won't go to high school until he's 11 then I would say go for it. It is so much easier to keep up the magic if they are still in primary school. If you have a three tier system and he will go to middle school next year then I would be more cautious. Although having said that I do think that it would be magical whether he was a believer or not.

We went last year with my then 10 year old and 12 year old.
My 12 year old actually resorted back to being a young child as did we, embraced every minute of it and made it so magical that there was no doubt in my 10 year olds mind it was all real!
It was absolutely amazing!
I’d happily go back, so would the kids. The whole atmosphere alone is worth it!

I think it would be magical anyway even if they didn’t believe.

I had to resort to telling my not far off 13 year old that Santa was not real this year. I thought she figured it out already but apparently not. She was a bit upset but said she was going to believe anyway.

We took DD at 9and 4 months and a younger DD. Before we went DS was starting to ask questions but by time we came back he was still a believer. Best money we"ve spent.

We did a day trip to Winter Wonderland. It was very remote and not at all commercial.
