I have just thread this thread from the start and found it fascinating. Have seen some ideas for future trips!
Didn't feel I could read and run. Our July 2020 trip - 3 adults and two kids (5 & 3) 26 nights Two premier Inn rooms at LGW including meal deals = £215.74 Gatwick Official valet parking - £90.90 BA economy return LGW - TPA Fly drive including 7 seater minivan - £ 2969.00 Disneys Yacht Club 5 nights 5 x 21 day ultimates ($300 gift card) Got Quidco cash back but cannot remember how much. Upgrade to Deluxe Dining plan - £4995 16 nights 5 bedroom villa - £2286 Cape Coral villa - 5 nights - £986.00 Estas x 5 - £54.76 SeaWorld 3 park 14 day tickets £514 Total £12,211 or £93.16 pppn without spends. Expect to spend approx £6k so total of £140.11 pppn with spends …… I actually think it looks better working it out pppn rather than just looking at the total! Edited at 08:58 PM. |

Sept 1st to 18th, 3 people,
per person esta £11 Travelodge night before flight plus parking £35 BA flights direct LGW to MCO and return, 12 nights Holiday Inn Resort, LBV, 4 Endless Summer £692 uber to and from airport £35 1 night Hardrock club level £100 Universal £285 Disney £435 Halloween Horror Nights £106 £900 spends = £2599 £152.88 a night This was supposed to be my budget trip but it grewed ... Edited to add that I have realised I haven't included petrol to and from airport at about £25 and also at least one, possibly two of us will require separate but pretty ordinary travel insurance. My dd 20 will be back at home at the time but may no longer be covered via our bank and her friend will need it too. Edited at 11:10 AM. |

I posted earlier on in the thread but we changed our booking so the price is now different! We were originally onsite for 5 nights with free dining. Between the 6 of us we have saved over £2000 by dropping the onsite part, that’s after we’ve bought Disney tickets!
We are 2 adults and a 12 & 14 year old. My parents are coming with us, so the accommodation costs are half of what they should be, full cost in brackets! They are also paying for some of the costs towards the fly drive for the car. 1 night Hilton South terminal - £62 with Tesco club card vouchers No transport costs to Gatwick as getting a lift Flights 14/08-31/08 - LGW to MCO then Miami to Heathrow home. £2900 including full size suv (suburban or similar) (full cost £3400) No cost to get home from Heathrow as live 20 mins away so will get picked up. 5 nights Lake Buena Vista Resort village in a 3 bed, £457 (£914 total) 10 nights Emerald Island 4 bed villa - £668 (£1337) 14 day Disney ultimates £1568 3 x Kennedy tickets £126 4 x wild Florida tickets with 1hr airboat ride £137 2 nights tides inn Lauderdale by the sea £400 Insurance I don’t include as is a rolling annual policy & have pre existing. Total price is £6318 not including spends spends which will be about £2500 plus credit card. So £1579pp, £87pp per day. The cheapest August trip we’ve had! |
