My daughters dress has cost me a bottle of wine, as I got it from a friend at work whose daughter no longer wanted it, she wore it to her prom. 😁

Have a look in lipsy (connected to next) and also quiz- both have really lovely long dresses, no need for them to cost more then £150ish, also like Bohoo, Asos, oasis, coast, Dorothy Perkins, ted baker, monsoon ect. have some really lovely prom dresses - heck for bridesmaids dresses for a friends wedding we are looking more like £150 max!?!
I went in a roadsweeper to prom, the person who was voted best transport went in a motorcycle side car! But lots just went in parents ‘nicer’ cars too. Edited at 05:09 PM. |

Excited about Disney
|
My daughter had her prom last year. Her dress was about £300+ £40 for alterations, £15 for shoes, £65 for hair, makeup and nails, £40 for a shared Humer Limo (she shared the limo with 14 other friends) oh and £25 for the actual prom. Then £30 for after prom dress which was at our house but was just daughter and 4 other friends, so we also had to supply some food and drink. Very expensive day/night but my daughter and her friends all looked stunning and had an amazing time. It was definately an emotional memorable day.

My friends neighbour started a charity with her 21st birthday money whilst at university called Prom Ally for young people who would otherwise be unable to afford to go to their Prom. I’ve mentioned it before on here and know at least one Dibber has donated a dress.

My DDs prom dress was £85 from Debenhams and absolutely stunning - floor length straight navy dress with beaded top half. Bag from TKMaxx £30 (all crystals), shoes from New Look £25, jewellery £20. Hair cost £28 for an updo and make up was done by a Guerlain make up artist for free.
