Virgin Won't Let Me Check DH In On-Line

Hi Guys

I have tried searching, and think I know the answer but need my anxiety put to rest.

I have just tried to check in for our flight tomorrow and told DH needs to check in at the airport.

Is this simply that he has been selected for additional security checks? He has an ESTA, a valid passport and the names are correct on the booking, so assume that is all it is.

i doubt if anyone on here can be certain of the reason but as per your post it could be extra checks

It has happened to lots of dibber's including the unlucky ones like me who seem to get it every trip

I also get it every trip. I must look suspicious lol. I always get picked for additional security, and DH always gets stopped 'cos he sets off the alarm with a belt or glasses or something random he's forgotten. It's become a routine now.

I've been selected for extra security checks the last 4 times we've been to the States. It takes a couple of minutes at the time but it's the worry thinking why me!

Congratulations, you have been selected to have a very nice SSSSS mention on your boarding pass, and get additionnal security at the airport

it should not take more than a couple of minutes and emptying the carry on bag.

Happened to be a few weeks ago, only with BA , bit of a pain as there was along queue at check in

Just as we were boarding the plane all though with the SSS on boarding cards were taken aside and our bags were swabbed

DH got pulled for extra checks when we got to Tampa !

Happened to me too, in October. No big deal, took a few minutes, had to join separate queue at the gate, emptied my carry on bag, swabbed some things. Nothing to worry about.
I was able to check in my cases the night before, via bag drop as usual, no problem.
