Vanderbilt Beach - North Naples - have you been?

We've booked for August '21 and are planning 5 days at the beach. We stayed just to the South of Naples in 2017 near Old Marco's Junction and loved the place. We were nowhere near Tin City or the Pier but visited both numerous times.

What is North Naples like? I'm worried that like last time we will be a little too far from the action. It would be nice to be able to walk to somewhere from the villa. The place we are looking at is 5 minutes from vanderbilt Beach and apparently close to Mercato (?) and other hot spots.

Any advice you have on this area and where is good to visit would be gratefully received.

Thanks

We stayed at Briarwood 3 years ago and loved it - from what I remember none of the villa communities were within walking distance of tin city etc. We looked at staying on Lely which is near that end of Naples but the prices were far more than briarwood which was 5 mins drive to publix/Cheesecake Factory and about 15mins to longhorns etc. We loved Naples and had planned to go and stay on Marco island this year but sadly was cancelled.

It’s incredibly nice so no worries. I’ve stayed in Naples all over- maybe 20 times. Lely is my favourite place to actually stay as I like the Player’s Club, but I love North Naples. I’ve stayed in Briarwood and in a Condo up near Vanderbilt and stayed many times at Lover’s Key and Bonita. Stayed in Park Shore.
You have loads up there- Lowdermilk which is my favourite, Barefoot, Estero, Lover’s Key State Park and of course not far to Fort Myers, Sanibel etc. It’s also closer to Corkscrew and the great outlet mall.
It’s a wonderful area.
However unless you are in Old Town Naples you really need to drive places although you can walk around the residential streets in that area.
I don’t think I’ve ever been to that Mercato (not been up that area much for quite a few years as last 3 stays in Naples I was in Lely) but it looks very good with some great restaurants (Seasons etc)

All the beaches are just gorgeous. We’ve been to Naples loads of times, it’s our favourite place.

We stayed in north naples and enjoyed it. The beach was stunning and we had a great meal at the Turtle club directly on the beach. Was about a 15 minute drive into Naples.

We went just a tiny bit further North last year, to Delnor Wiggins State Park.

In comparison, it was almost like being on a desert island with very few people and vegetation at the edge of the sand. There are car parks within the park and just a few yards walk onto the beach.

We swam with Pelicans and at the north point, saw a Manatee in the water. We also saw black snakes and wild tortoises. If you like quiet, then this is the place. Looking down to Vanderbilt, it looked busy.

We ate that evening in the nearby Yardhouse.

We stayed at La Playa Beach which is about 0.5 of a mile from Delnor Beach, it was beautiful.
