Just going on to episode 4. Wow it’s so good but so sad too. Brilliant acting & soundtrack.

We’ve just watched the final 4 episodes. Very moving and thought provoking. My kids (well they aren’t kids) couldn’t comprehend the stigma and behaviour of some of the parents.
I don’t want to spoil it so I won’t say too much but although I remember the fear I didn’t realise some of the treatment people received.

Unfortunately some of that stigmas still exists and is very much evident today - knowing your status is everyone’s moral duty these days and age and the more we talk about it the stigmas will eventually go. Albert Kennedy Trust exist to look after kids kicked out of home for being gay or being HIV+ - its appalling. I hope this important TV series is sen by all - I found it remarkable and the only actor I had heard off before was Stephen Fry but there was some great performances in that series amongst the younger set too.

I agree about episode 3. I was a mess by the end. So well written and performed.

Really enjoyed the first episode. Very well acted. I really hope it was not as bad for those hospitalized. Was it?

From the reading I’ve done I believe it was as bad as shown sadly - especially in the early days before they knew exactly what it was. I was shocked that things were this bad in my lifetime.

We are having a binge watch! Just about to start episode 4!
I was only young at the time so hadn't realised they didn't understand what Aids was at first! The treatment they received was awful!
Amazing acting throughout so far, luckily decided not to watch with children around, it's certainly an eye opener at times!

I listened to Russell T Davies being interviewed on the Chris Evans show on Friday morning.
He described how during the early eighties chorus boys from the West End shows would simply “go home “ to wherever they were from and never be seen again .Chris Evans described the series as important- I think he’s right and Im disappointed that that some of the stigmas still exist now.
What struck me most was the lost years in some of those families and also how strong the characters were to carve out their own lives and careers despite how hard it was for them .
