ESTA - Status Change

Just received an email. My ESTA which was valid until 28th May 2020 has had it's status changed and now states 'Expired'.

Make of that what you will, but it tells me that the US authorities do not predict re-opening the borders until June at least

Ours should be valid until September 2021 but are now showing as expired. I think they must be carte blanche cancelling them for everyone. The cheeky sods!

Holy smoke, only paid for ours a couple of weeks ago and yes, ours are showing as authorisation expired. I wonder if all this business does clear up if the status will change back automatically or methinks they will want us to pay for another one?

Lets hope so. I can't cancel my flights etc yet as we are not due to go till 31/7/2020. I have paid in full for my BA flights and they are non refundable. If the FCO recind there 'No Travel Ban' we will have to go. Will keep and eye on the situation and the way I feel now if we can cancel without losing £2400 we have paid for the flghts, we will do.

Have they identified people who have completed API? There is a warning on the ESTA homepage about the current travel ban and states that anyone who still tries to enter will have their ESTA cancelled. Could they be cancelling esta’s of those who have completed API even though they will no longer be travelling? Just a thought.

I had done API. This maybe an admin thing and hopefully for those with travel and ESTAs into 2021/2022 that the status may change back.
