Universal Direct

was looking on trivago at universal cabana bay and 16 nights with volcano view was £1868 with hotels.com

I had a look on universals website to get a an idea of their charges (expecting higher price) was shocked to find the exact same room, dates and volcano view for £1383 so booked direct with universal

thats a saving of almost £500 and will probably cover car hire and parking at the hotel

I spoke to a nice lady and she told me to keep an eye on the prices about 3 months out as they can sometimes be less to annual pass holders. if the price drops I am to call and they will amend to new lower cost

it does prove that these hotel comparison websites aren't always cheaper

Not booked direct myself but we did buy our park tickets direct in 2019, as we was staying at rpr we was able to collect them at concierge when we checked in. At the time they were the cheapest.

We’re hoping for a couple of nights at RPR next year and hoping for the annual pass discount.

Universal often have deals wher you get free nights and the search engines often do not show them, so checking direct can often give better deals. Many of the Universal deals allow cancellation, so allow changing to APH deals nearer the time, so a WIN-WIN. Lets hope you get a better deal nearer the time.
