Fuel Shortages
Does anyone know how worried I need to be about the fuel strikes - we go next Tuesday - will fill up in Folkestone but have to drive to Paris, to and from DCR and then back to Calais - we have a VW transporter/Caravelle 1.9 TDi - I am really starting to panic that we will be stuck in France with no fuel.

I just had exact the same worry having just heard about it. I'm going much further south, though, to the coast. Hoprefully we will hear soon

Only anecdotal I know, but my friend (who is French, living in England) asked her sister (who lives in France ) about this yesterday. Currently it appears it is no where near as bad as the media are reporting it to be. Hopefully will stay this way for your trip xxx

I've heard this too. The media are apparently making more of a fuss than it is!

A friend of mine warned us to let people know how bad it is. Some petrol stations are rationing the fuel while others have run out altogether. French people are using what little fuel they do have going from one filling station to another looking for fuel.

We are going next Thursday via Eurotunnel. Thinking of options ie fuel cans! French strikes can go on and on

Just found this in the FAQs on the Eurotunnel website:
Can I carry spare fuel? Additional fuel may be carried up to the following limits: Plastic containers: 3 x 10 litres Metal containers: 1 x 20 litres (A maximum total of 30 litres) |

Not sure if 30 litres will be enough to get us to Kent from Disney! It's about 200 miles
