That is such a kind gesture and another fine example of all the lovely dibbers who use this site and restore my faith in mankind (after a bad week at work)

I can't offer any suggestions about the flights but I have stayed at MGM signature and loved it great rooms loads of space. Good luck with getting your flights sorted. X

I don't know what to say! You are so lovely. I am really hoping that Virgin will be able to sort something out today. There is a direct flight from vegas to Heathrow with BA so I'm hoping they will offer us that at least. Or there is a direct flight with Virgin to Gatwick 2 days later but they would have to help out with the cost. As for getting us from Heathrow to Gatwick, I really feel Virgin should supply the transfer but we will see. Thank you again x

Right!
Ok. Personally I would not wait for the offers to be made, I would start by saying how unhappy you are and that there are two options you would accept (those detailed above) unless VH has a better suggestion. I think you need to try and take control a bit as they are not exactly coming forward with palatable alternatives. I would write down the options, read them out, and stand firm. Good Luck

Ok. So we have given up waiting for the promised call back and phoned them. Paul made the suggestion of staying the 2 extra nights if they would pay the extra hotel bill. Very nice guy said that would make sense but he didn't know if the managers would go for that and they won't be in until Monday! We were told there would be a manager calling us back today so that was a lie. So there is nothing we can do but wait until Monday. My parents have said they will be happy to do whatever we decide to do but have said please don't cancel the holiday as they are so looking forward to going :-(

And then, if by any miracle they agree, I'm going to have to just wing it with my boss. Hubby's work will be fine but think my boss is going to be a bit grumpy about it. Again, all ifs and buts at the moment.

There is a thread running on v-flyer.com it appears Virgin are making quite a few changes.
Hope you get it sorted out I know what you are going through my flight was changed by virgin earlier in the year. "Stop Press 910 - Changes To Our Flying Programme We need to let you know that we will be making some changes to our flying programme for travel in April and May 2017. • These changes will affect routes to Atlanta, San Francisco and Orlando. • We will also be making some changes to the aircraft operating some of these routes. We are working closely with our partner Delta Air Lines to accommodate as many customers as possible by offering a choice of alternative flights, or a full refund if they no longer wish to travel. For customers that have booked Premium Economy on Virgin Atlantic operated flights and are subsequently moved onto a Delta Air Lines operated flight in main cabin, we will offer partial refunds on their Premium Economy booked seat. Scheduled changes to our flying programme will be communicated via your GDS. It’s never our intention to disappoint our customers, and we’d like to apologise for any inconvenience caused by this change." v-flyer/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=294991 |
