Sis and I are going in October for my birthday. What started out as a trip to Shanghai, has turned into Shanghai DL - Great Wall - Toyko DL/DS - Kyoto two week trip. I am getting ready to call DVC to book our Tokyo Disneyland Hotel reservation today!

Just found this forum, brilliant! We are going to China and then Hong Kong in three weeks time. Planning to go to HK Disney so will try and give some feed back.

Furthest east we will have been so will be an interesting trip!

Do the trip reports go under General?

Great idea, I found Hannikins TR really useful for info, but stumbled upon it accidentally due to a lack of a forum, so this will be great. I'll certainly share useful info on my return in August...

Our son is living in Hangzhou for the next few years. We are planning on visiting him next year, but I'm unsure about the visa ?. We will be there for at least two weeks. Who do I apply to ? Any idea on cost etc ?

I've read your sticky Geoffa, but I'm still confused

Any help will be greatly received

we paid £175 each for our visa as we went to Chengdu then Shanghai. I believe you need a visa if you will be there for more than 144 hours or arriving in to certain cities (Chengdu wasn't included in the exemption). The visa turnaround was very quick.

We applied by post and had Visa back within a week. We used Visa for China which is the site the UK Gov't Site-Travel to China takes you to for Visas. Yes it was £175. Just be careful when getting your pictures they are a different size from passport photos.
