Itinerary for Tokyo

Hi All!

Would anyone please be able to point me in the direction of where I could find examples of people’s itineraries for a two week stay in Tokyo.
Or would anyone be able to show their proposed plans for upcoming trips.

I’m a bit lost! (And I haven’t even got there yet!😅 )

Thank you everyone!

We only had a week in Tokyo. It's such a huge city, we concentrated on different areas day by day. We did the classics, Tokyo Station, Asakusa, Harajuku, Meiji Shrine, Ueno Park, Shinjuku, Omotesando Hills for shopping and visited some nice gardens like Hama Rikyu gardens. We took a couple of day trips by train to Kamakura, the old capital, and Yokohama, one of the original treaty ports. So
much has been added in the ten years since we were there you'll have plenty to add to the list. The Skytree!
The TV channel NHK World has some excellent programmes including Tokyo Eye 2020.
Have a great time 👍

Thanks for that. I think I need to do my research. We are meeting family there (they are flying in from Australia) and I know nothing about any of these places. Maybe I need to research a bit more before I decide on an itinerary. I’ll look at the places you have suggested! 😊

I will dig out and post it up

I did a trip report too but that's a long read !

I spent about 9 months doing research especially on the transport system as we used it a lot especially the bullet train

Tokyo is vast, its 40 million people and Shinjuku station alone has. 3 million people thru it per day

Japan is a whole new ball game in terms of cultural and language and I enjoyed the research as much as the holiday!

Still in the planning stage and subject to (lots) of change my proposed itinerary for my trip to Tokyo with my 17yr ds.

Fri 20/7 Travel
Sat 21/7 Check-in @ Tokyo Bay Area hotel
Sun 22/7 Tokyo Disney
Mon 23/7 Tokyo Disneysea
Tue 24/7 Disney/Disneysea
Wed 25/7 Centurion Hotel & Ikebukuro
Thu 26/7 Mt. Fuji trip and Bullet Train
Fri 27/7 Ueno Park/Zoo & Asakusa
Sat 28/7 Nakano Broadway & Fireworks
Sun 29/7 Imperial Palace & Akihabara
Mon 30/7 Harajuku & Shibuya & Shinjuku
Tue 31/7 Ikebukuro & Check-in Nikki Narita Hotel
Wed 1/8 Fly home

There's loads more I want to do but that gives me an excuse to go back! Any feedback on my itinerary is appreciated - including things to add or take off. Won't be getting a Jr Pass as I (don't think) I'd get my monies worth out of it so will use a Suica card. Unsure of night in airport hotel - my reasoning is should be easier during day to get my bags on and off trains (flight at 11:10am) but not sure.

Hi, watch loads of YouTube and I mean loads, to get an idea I've been overdosing on it and it kind of changes but I know more now than I did before, lol! At the moment it's looking like Tokyo, Osaka and either Kyoto or Okinawa

Wow, your itinerary looks great.I too am wondering if we'd get our monies worth out of a JR Pass. I was also pondering over whether to stay close to the airport the night before. Either that or I'm getting a car transfer to and from the airport, I think. I'm having so much fun planning this trip! The more videos I watch the more all over the place the plans At the moment I'm liking the look of the Kobe restaurant, well the lunch menu! It looks like there is something amazing at every twist and turn and that's even without the theme parks

Thanks for the itinerary. That's just what I was looking for. I'm glad I asked the question as clearly i do have a lot and I mean a lot of research to do. I haven't even heard of half of the things that you suggested so it's really useful as I can google them and see whether I will like to visit there or not!
