We stayed in the Venetian when we were out there in August and, apart from a day at the Grand Canyon then another exploring the Strip and visiting some of the other hotels, ended up spending all the rest of our time in the hotel itself. There was plenty for us to do and the hotel is just fab!

We stayed at the Mirage this year and loved the location of it. Would defo stay again, got a fantastic price too.
We caught the monorail once from Casino Royale Opp the Mirage to MGM, but to be honest it was miles more convenient to catch a taxis. The cost of the monorail for 2 of us was $10 with a good 10 minute walk from the back of MGM to the front and the following night a taxis from the Mirage to Manalay Bay was only $11 and it was further away |

The monorail does work out cheaper if you buy a daily or multiple day pass.
We used it loads as we stayed at the Signature, and the MGM monorail stop is very convenient when staying there; much closer than for the MGM Grand residents HTH Anne

I am undecided as well, we are meeting cousins there, and they said stay cheap as you will want to be out and about, with us only staying 3 nights.
they are coming over from Palm Springs, they said the Excaliber, but not sold on it even though some good reviews. others i have starting lowest priced are MGM Grand MGM Sig Mirage Mandalay Bay Ceasars Bellagio Wynn Venetian Will wait till about Feb before i decide on which one |

[QUOTE=Earthbound;4282108]I have to disagree - Circus Circus is in the worst area of the strip almost a mile walk to centre strip, and don't get me talking about the smell and how your shoes stick to the carpet ! There are so many better hotels that cost hardly any more money.
Well I dont know when you were there, but it wasn't like that when I was there. As for location, it was fine, its not that far along the Strip and the mile walk is only a problem if you dont like to walk, it doesnt bother me and we enjoyed looking at places as we walked along, to me, the best way to see somewhere is to walk along. PIGLET38 & emma4g63, We have stayed at the MGM quite a few times now always in the main tower. The rooms are really nice and quite big with windows almost to the floor so very light, hate dark rooms. Quite modern.
This time we are staying in a 2 br suite which is at the end of each corridor. There is a double door which opens into a large living room and dinning area with sink and fridge, with a double bedroom and en-suite each side, plus a guest bathroom off the living room. DH doesnt know about this its a suprise. The hotel are going to decorate the room with baloons and banners before we get there. We are going to celebrate his 50th, so not really planning on doing anything this trip apart from partying, eating, sleeping, shopping and laying by the pool oh and of course the odd bit of gambling.

That sounds brilliant. How lovely to have the room decorated before you get there - great surprise. Would love to hear what you think of the 2 bed suite. We are going with another couple and I know the Mandalay Bay do 2 bed suites with 2 seperate bathrooms and can get good deals on them. I didn't realise that the MGM did them as well so you will have to let me know what you think. Hope you have a brilliant time and that DH enjoys his surprises.
