Fastpass Q times
How long would you expect to wait in the fastpass line for the popular rides in July?
Half an hour or so? |

From our experiences I don’t think we have ever waited 30mins in FP unless the ride has been down or closed for weather prior to us joint the queue. I would say 20mins max so 30mins from start to finish (including ride).

The aim is to get riders in fast pass riding within 15 mins of getting into line.
This can obviously be delayed by technical issues and such. There are situations where the fast pass queue is huge because another ride in the park has gone down and people who had a fast pass for that ride now have the option to use it elsewhere and most will descend on mass to the next popular option. So say you’ve got FP for tower of terror and rock’n’roller coaster goes down, people with fast passes will usually head on round the corner and join the fast pass line for tower of terror. Now the aim will still be to get guests through in 15 mins or as close to that as possible. This is when you see some rides with RIDICULOUS stand by lines and they don’t seem to be moving. That’s because the stand by line may only be letting five guests onto the ride for every 40 fast pass guests who get to ride. Sometimes stand by riders will be stopped completely for up to 15 minutes in order to satisfy fast pass demand. So if you get to a fast pass line and it looks huge, and you’re hearing people say ‘this doesn’t seem like it’s gonna be very fast’ - I wouldn’t worry. Unless the ride itself is down you’ll typically be on the ride within 15-20 minutes.

The only one that I’d give myself half an hour for is Flight of Passage. We’ve had 5 FP’s for it over our 3 weeks and from tapping in to actually sitting on the ride it’s been 20-25 minutes.
All the rest have been max 15 minutes, even when the FP queue seems long like Adreamisawish says. |

We went at a quieter time than July, but to compare to the standby times, maybe this will help - times cover entering the queue to boarding the ride vehicle, so that includes pre-shows, but not the ride itself.

ratmanscoop’s posting is great and sounds like what we experienced. Eg test track and tower of terror are always SLOW, test track because you go through car design and then join another queue. Flight of passage also slow as someone else said because of the two (totally superfluous) pre shows.

FoP is particularly bad for a drawn-out preshow, but also complete mismanagement of the queue and preshow rooms it seems. We waited 182 minutes (posted 125) but about 20 of these were in channel 1 of the final queuing area while channels 2&3 flowed past us (including people in our group who joined the standby line more than 10 mins after us!). We then had to go through the 'matching' preshow twice as they sent too many people into the ride area and our numbers didn't have any allocated seats. I'm fairly tolerant of long queues but this left a bit of a sour taste after 3 hours - with all those screwups, even FP+ guests could well have been waiting over an hour. Fortunately the ride was excellent, but I wouldn't want to go through that experience again for it.
That's a rather special case though, as said, most other rides tend to be able to uphold the 'max of 15 minutes + preshow' guideline, unless they've just come back online and a flood of earlier reservations are pouring in. All that happens under such circumstances though is the standby line is stopped until the FP backlog clears, so it usually doesn't take long to sort out.
