Disney fix - off-site & no parks

Usually stay on Disney and do the whole thing.

Not planning on doing Disney at all this time but do have a couple of days with a car where we might like to have a little Disney magic.

I’ve already got mini golf, boardwalk and Disney springs. What else could we do? And how can I avoid paying for parking?!

Could we get a monorail and have a little resort tour for free? Maybe get a bus at Disney springs to link to monorail?

Anywhere good we could view fireworks? I might book an adr at narrcossee or Cali grill, but if I don’t, can we see fireworks elsewhere?

We're here at the moment and not doing the parks. We had a great day today...lunch at the Grand Floridian in the Garden Cafe then did the full monorail run around the resorts and to Epcot and back. Stopped off at Polynesian and had a dole whip at Pineapple Lanai and generally wandered about taking in the Disney atmosphere. As we had an ADR at GF we parked for free at GF.
We've also spent a few afternoons at Disney Springs and went to AKL

On our last-minute week in the February half-term we did the following...

- Fantasia Gardens mini-golf
- Boardwalk stroll with dinner at Big River Grille
- Disney Springs, twice, with dinner at Blaze Pizza
- Polynesian for dole whips and watched the fireworks from the beach
- Walk-up dinner at the Cali Grill, staying to watch the fireworks

Only the latter was particularly expensive, and it was nice to dip in and out without having the rush and pressure that the parks can bring.

Where are you parking when you visit to avoid parking charges?

We parked at the places we were visiting. There are no charges for parking at a resort hotel. Nor the mini-golf, nor Disney Springs.

I thought you had to pay at hotels now? If you are a guest? Seems unfair not charging visitors?!
