Are Sea World ethics discussions off-limits?

A thread about eating meat span off into the ethics of visiting Sea World.

I only saw a couple of posts on this part of the conversation, one of which was my own.

There was no argument, disagreement nor abuse between Dibbers.

However, those posts have now vanished in that magic way that happens from time to time.

Is the discussion of animal welfare, and how our views of this may influence our decisions on whether to visit this chain of theme parks, off-limits on this site?

If so, is this related to the commercial relationship between this site and Sea World that does, or perhaps still does, exist?

Question asked in peace - I hope this post doesn't also magically disappear.

I think I’ve seen it discussed before that it has been ugly in the past, so maybe its now shut down before it can become ugly.

Though I agree, we are all adults and as long as it doesn’t come down to name calling and abuse, debates are good I think. Makes you question and make up your own mind on things.

Thanks - that suggests that "yes", that on a Florida holiday planning site, people can't discuss the ethics of animal welfare at Sea World.

The thread did not really spin off on to SeaWorld ethics as you suggest, it was a single post going completely off the main topic of the thread. You replied to and expanded on that post. Both posts were removed in accordance with our T&C’s.

You only saw 'one' post other than your own reply! There was no arguments as we removed both off topic posts before the arguments could start!

No it has absolutely nothing to do with any commercial connections 🙄

It is in our T&C’s
Section 3.2
https://www.thedibb.co.uk/terms_and_conditions.php

The particular topic usually becomes argumentative very quickly so we don’t allow discussion on that particular topic.

The T&C’s apply to ALL theme parks

Terms and conditions 3.2 along with seat reclining as they both end up with horrendous arguments.

It would also include the captive dolphins at Disney that are kept in an indoor tank.
