£2585 is definitely too much for 2 adults, 1 child and car. We paid £2300 for 2 adults 2 children into Tampa with car in BAs Xmas sale

Flights for my dates 15/08 to 05/09 came out today with Lufthansa, price including luggage for 3 adults is £1839 that's for Man-Fra-Tpa and same on way back. A few years ago I would be booking it at that price but now want a car as well for less than that price after the deals of the last 2-3 years so will hang on.

I have enough points for 2 VA economy miles so if I can get 2 miles flights and then buy a direct flight for about £900 that might be an option.

Now I need to make the decision if to wait it out or not. I would like £2500 but not sure if this is realistic in school holidays?
Last time we did 2/8to I think the 23/8 direct to Miami with Ford Edge for £1290 including luggage and seats with AA. We booked in Xmas sale I would not pay of £450 each for flights and aim for sub £400 but to be fair I can fly any school holiday dates and any duration to any airport.
