I do this every trip. I love the planning and looking forward - but in the last few weeks I can't even be bothered to pack and I just lose interest. As soon as the front door is locked on travel day though - I'm good again!

Another one here that gets it. I don't feel particularly anxious , just flat and start to think the whole holiday is a mistake and I'd rather stay at home.
Oddly I didn't feel like this in the run up to our Norway cruise this year, and then I didn't enjoy the holiday as much as our US trips.

That's a pretty spot on way of describing it!

Yup, it happens to me when we’re going on a holiday that’s involved lots of planning.

I think part of it is worrying that everything goes well and my planning has been worth it and the other concern is about what I’m going to spend my free time doing when I get back home.

Yep me too I think I start to weirdly get upset that it will be over soon, how stupid is that?

On the flip side just having a trip booked even if 18 months away is a huge buzz

I am exactly the same. I am really sad that the build up is over...so silly really. And I am like you and always have to have something booked.

For those going away soon I hope you have a great time

Completely normal I find for big holidays. All the money, planning, excitement puts pressure on for the perfect holiday. You'll be fine when you're setting off xx
