Does anyone fly to WDW with only hand luggage?

Hi all,

Does anyone book the flights with hand luggage only?

Doing dummy bookings as my flights dates are not available yet, there is a huge saving if not checking in luggage.

I've never done this on a long haul trip, is it possible to get by for 11 day holiday on just a small cabin sized case?

Many thanks Dibbers.

I've done hand luggage only on a 7 day Ibiza trip but buy so much in Florida I need a full sized case on the way back.

We are planning 2 weeks May or Sept 2020. I have a really good cabin bag, true size for all major carriers and I can get loads in, so will only be taking a cabin bag and a handbag/tiny rucksac. My Sons DW will have to take a bag!

Yes we have just done it there and back. I’ve previously traveled out with hand luggage and brought a case back but this time we debated about the case and decided we didn’t need it.

I packed more than I needed. And bought 4 pairs of trousers which I brought home.

I had about 5 pairs of shorts but preferred one pair and mostly wore them. About 7 tops. A pair of cropped trousers. I travelled in loose cotton trousers. A t shirt and a hoody I didn’t really need and carried all the way there and all the way back...

I wore trainers and took 2 other pairs of sandals.

Liquids we each had a ziplock bag with our stuff in. We bought bigger toiletries there and we did leave some behind.

We each had a cabin bag and a small backpack. I would recommend a bag with a trolley strap to attach it to your cabin bag. It made a huge difference for me.

Out of curiousity, how large is the price difference with hand luggage only? If it's really a big saving, I may be tempted to try next year... it would also force me to buy less crap lol

It was a saving of £400 altogether for 4 of us. We've decided to check in one large case and the rest hand luggage. Still saving around 300.

We’ve done other trips cabin baggage only and not a big bag either. We tend not to do it for Florida because we bring stuff back e.g. command hooks!

Not yet but this is the plan for us next year. Looking forward to the challenge and not packing everything but the kitchen sink 😁

We haven't in the past but I'm seriously thinking about it for our next visit. We fly PE so cost isn't an issue, I'm thinking purely in terms of ease. Less waiting at MCO on arrival for example. We're only going for a week and a cabin bag each would be more than enough. The only thorn in the plan is we only have one cabin bag between the three of us
