Getting a build-your-own lightsaber home

Hi everyone,
I’m a 37 year old big kid and booked to build my own lightsaber in Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge.

I’m flying with Virgin and I’m concerned how I’ll get it home. The ‘blade’, as I understand it, is 34” long without the hilt and won’t fit in my suitcase. It is probably unlikely to fit in the overhead locker.

Has anyone been to Galaxy’s Edge and brought a lightsaber back to the UK?

Thanks all!

No we haven't, but there are reports on other boards of them being allowed as carry on luggage. Might be worth ringing Virgin to check?

Looks like you may be there the same time as us!

So exciting isn’t it!?

I called Virgin and was advised that cabin crew would be able to help so I’m happy I’ll be able to bring a piece of The Force back with me 😀👍

I am glad they were helpful!

Not really feeling the excitement yet, had a rather stressful day with A Level results yesterday, and the BA pilots strike has been hanging over us, although our outbound flight is now safe. Have now booked all the tickets for Disneyland, Universal and Warner Bros. Might start packing on Sunday that usually helps!

Hope you have a lovely time.

We previously flew with Virgin in the bubble and the person in front of us had a lightsaber which was stored in the extra space to the side, under the windows. Enjoy.
