Help with where to stay?

OH wants to go to see Miami Heat play Houston Rockets on Nov 3rd

We have decided to do 5 nights at the beach to conside

We are looking for a condo (There are 8 of us) within walking distance to a nice beach, things to do other than the beach and walking distance to restaurants

We have 6 children aged 13-3 so miami seems a little too busy/expensive

I've never looked for a condo within walking distance of the beach along Fort Lauderdale and north for myself. If I was you I would have a look at Homeandaway (or any other rental company) which is what I have just done to get an idea of what is available. Have a box of tissues handy as the prices are eye watering.

More looking for ideas on areas, close enough to miami but good for kids, with nice restaurants etc
