Mid-stay villa clean
Hello all,
We have booked a villa on Reunion for two weeks. I would like to have a mid-stay clean, but the options offered by the rental agency are extortionate (500 dollars for a light clean and 650 dollars for a full clean and sheet change). Can anyone recommend a reliable cleaning agency that will provide one off cleans on the basis of hourly rates? Many thanks, AF |

Hi, Welcome to the Dibb 😊
Has the villa owner given you permission to get another cleaning company in? How big is the villa you are staying in ? |

Unfortunaly asking any outside cleaning /delivery ( i.e. Walmart straight to fridge grocery deliverys ) will more than likely break the terms of your rental contract i.e. You've given out the door code allowed A outside agent into the home and most likely your holiday travel insurance should anything go missing
You may in fact be asked to leave the villa But I do agree the costs you have been quoted are high but at $95 for a full clean on our 4 bed it be revelantto, the villa size And the cleaners would have to work round your stuff have additional insurance and if laundry is done off site that can be an other 100 for a 4 bed3bath home |

Thanks, both. The agency knows that I intend to get another cleaner it and doesn't have a problem with it. There is nothing in the rental agreement to prevent it and we would probably be at or around the property in any event. I'm just looking for someone to provide four hour's cleaning. We are staying in a big house, but will only be using three of the bedrooms and two bathrooms so I only want a limited clean. If anyone can recommend an agency they have previously used that would be appreciated.

I own a UK based holiday home management business and know a lot of different cleaners/agencies over in America. Is your villa in Florida?
I am happy to ask for quotes for you. I don't know many who work per hour though the work is more commonly priced per job. Just thin king maybe when your over there locals might be able to point you in the right direction. |

Hi Minnie,
Yes, we will be on Reunion. Good idea re checking with locals, i'll look at some FaceBook sites for recommendations. We did the same in Australia earlier this year and it worked really well. Many thanks, AF |

Hi - we're on Reunion!
There are a lot of British owners in Reunion who will have their own cleaners... best place to find them is either on '11' or in the Lobby Bar on a Friday evening. From the prices you're quoting I am guessing you booked direct with Reunion? I did text our management company but their cleaners are already maxed out with own jobs. Hopefully you'll find a friendly owner who can help. Ask the bar manager to point out owners to you - they are always happy to make introductions. Hope you have a lovely holiday Sarah |
