Currency card, may have dreamt this?

Which currency card is it that keeps the balance in £ but converts to $ as you use it?
Have I dreamt this or is there an actual card?

You can do this with Revolut, although I prefer not to and 'lock in' the rate before I go.

You top up in £ and can exchange it to $ at the interbank rate any time you like in the app*. Or if you don't, then it will be exchanged when you use the card.

*except at the weekend they apply a small markup to protect themselves from major shifts when markets open Monday morning.

starling card does this - you get the master card rate at the time you use the card and no fees. happy days.

There has been a number of recent threads on Starling, Revolut and Monzo which give the benefits.

Our recent trip I used both the Revolut and Starling cards and found them both to be excellent, especially immediate notification of transaction on my phone (often before the receipt has printed).

Moving money onto them was easy also.
