I’ve only been for Afternoon tea but I’d go for the Dome for the stunning atmosphere at Christmas.
It’s also across the street from your hotel Edited at 08:57 PM. |

Kyloe in Edinburgh is one of my favourites and has nice views of the castle.
The Dome is currently covered in scaffolding, you don’t know its there its that bad. I was asked where it was by 2 ladies last week, they were right next to it ! |

I think you may be pushed to eat out in Edinburgh City Centre on Christmas day as most restaurants will be shut. Your best bet would prob be a hotel restaurant but then again they might only be open for residents part of the Christmas package.
Chain restaurants like brewers fayre and marstons do Christmas day lunch/dinner but they are all out the centre. Plus don't know how good a meal you'd get there for Christmas! There's lots of restaurants down the grass market area they may be open..

Hi, I live in Edinburgh and if I was going out for Xmas dinner and wanted a really
nice meal I would suggest going out of town slightly to The Sun Inn at Dalkeith. It’s perhaps 25/30 mins by taxi but would be worth it. If you like Chinese for Xmas dinner I can also highly recommend Cool Jade which is opposite the Zoo. Really excellent food. If you want to let me know what area you are staying in I might have some more suggestions. |

The Printing Press in The George is really nice. Most places that do Christmas day usually require payment in advance, but I guess if you're residents you will be able to add it to your package. It's bookable on Open Table, or just phone the hotel. We have a couple of nights during the festival at the George this August. It's a lovely hotel, and by Christmas will probable have completed its rebranding as an Intercontinental.
