Mobile Single night RPR for express pass

Do we actually still need to go to the hotel lobby to get the express pass? Or can it be done online?

You have to check in at the hotel and your key card doubles as the Express Pass (as far as I know).

But you don’t all have to go to reception. One person can check in (with ID) and get all the passes.
They take your photo on certain rides.

Great so I can leave the family at cabana bay and check in and pick up for everyone - so we don't need to take photos in the lobby?

No, you don't need to get your photo taken. They use some kind of recognition software in the ride lines instead.

Yep leave them at cabana bay and just you check in. I did this in May.
As said above some of the ride have a face scanner. Don’t do what I did and split up and take the wrong passes. Quick run back to dh to swap over.
From memory kong and the trolley ride both have them. Others don’t.

Interesting last time we stayed you had to go to a little booth just off reception and have a photo taken and it printed a 'photo id' card which you had scanned at the express lines. This seems like a good improvement.
