things to do /places to eat in minehead?

We're going to butlins for ds birthday soon and I don't know the area so looking for recommendations of things to do locally and places to eat.

Stayed in Dunster at the beginning of the year (a couple of miles away) and ate most of our main meals there. Plenty of decent places there. If we went into Minehead we ate snack meals or cream teas here

We enjoyed the steam railway that starts/ends in Minehead.

We ate in The Wheelhouse two or three times over a week. Everything was fresh cooked and we couldn't fault it at all. The Creamery is also a really good place for more snack style food and cakes to die for! It's a vintage style cafe. They are quite close to each other on the main street going up from the sea.

From Minehead you can easily drive via Porlock and head to Lynton/Lynmouth in Devon over Exmoor. The views are amazing!

Not sure if you’ve got a car, but Lynton and Lynmouth are beautiful. One is at the top of a cliff and one is at the bottom. They are both connected by a near vertical train.
