CorkHeathrow Philly is 1.30 hours enough
Still in Florida we come back on Weds looking at flights for next year and very good prices from Cork to Heathrow, then onwards to Phl and then TPA. this would be for June/July next year. We did Cork Manchester Orlando this year and it worked a dream.
My question we would land on the Aerlingus flight from Cork into Heathrow at 8.45am the BA flight operated by American Airlines is at 10.15 am so we have an 1hr 30 minutes to get from Aerlingus to the next flight. I presume our luggage is booked through as it was this year. Would you guys think 90 minutes is sufficient time ? |

quick questions:
1 - is this booked as a through flight so you are sure you wouldn't need to collect your luggage? 2 - do you need to change terminals at Heathrow? remember airlines start boarding 60 minutes before you are due to leave and generally like everyone on board, (even if not all sat down at strapped in) 15-20 minutes before take-off time which only leaves you 75 minutes. |

It's doable, however, it will be very tight. Connection time between T2 and T3 is 75 minutes.

As mentioned above, Minimum Connecting Time bookable for this connection is 75 mins, so perfectly doable (given that T2 and T3 are next to each other, though separated), but not a lot of contingency for delays.
On arrival at T3 if using the connections route, you will likely be separated by AA ground staff for their security questions, which are in addition to the mandatory airport security screening. You should make it, but as long as you're not the type to get too stressed by these things, AA/BA have many other flights to the US, hopefully with a good chance of connecting to TPA the same day. Most long haul flights at LHR don't start boarding until about 45 mins prior to scheduled departure time, gates are often not even posted until an hour before. |

I would be cautious as these are minimum times and if your flight is delayed by just 20 minutes for any reason then you could be very flustered and miss the connecting flight. Yes they will likely be able to get you on another one but this can cause stress, especially if travelling with kids or a nervy traveller. I would always try to avoid 3 flights as an indirect due to all the hassle, is there nothing available that only requires one change?

Thank you for all the replies, this year was our first going from Cork we normally travel via Shannon, we live maybe 15 minutes from Cork Airport, versus a 2 hour journey to Shannon

You’d be ok today, we’re on the 10.15 and it’s delayed for an hour😭
We have 1.40 now to make our connection in Philly 🤞 |

Skyscanner is just a comparison site, you'd be booking with the airline or travel agent advertising the fare there.
Assuming all flights are on a single ticket, your checked bags would be tagged to TPA from Cork. You wouldn't see them at LHR, but since you would be flying to the USA from an airport without pre-clearance, you would have to collect your bags at PHL after immigration, clear customs and then drop them back immediately after customs for the onward domestic flight to TPA. |

Keep your eyes pealed for the gate in phl, ours changed 3 times in 60 mins 4 weeks ago, the last change was from a24 to I think c or d something which was a good 15 min walk.
