Not really unfair, the park opens at 9am, they have 12 hours from closing the evening before in which to get the ride ready for opening time. They're delaying opening every day which I think is pretty poor really. There's not even information as to what time it's going to open? If it's the odd day then I could understand an excuse of technical issues, but not every day? Late opening is obviously planned, then, back to my opening sentence, shouldn't take 12 hours to get it ready. It's not like someones just phoned them to say that the park needs to be opened now, they know what time it's opening!

Today, as soon as Hagrid's ride opened, 180 mins queue straight away. it then went up to 210 mins, then an hour or so later, back to 180 mins.

My understanding is that it does open when the park does but people are queuing from 7.30 so the wait at 9am will be about 2 hours in the line.
It does close because of the weather as it is an outside ride but they were running behind schedule before it opened but rather than delay the opening they decided to open without full testing

Using single rider lines is also very useful. For example today the forbidden journey line was 75 minutes. Single rider on and off in less than 10. You do miss some of the line attractions if doing single rider. We found it really useful now our daughter is older and happy to ride without us.
