American Airlines old plane from Manchester

We came last Friday and the flight itself was ok but I asked the flight attendant if it was a replacement aircraft and he said no, they have put this plane on for the summer season and it is a horrible plane and not in the best condition. No seat back TV 1 film on the old style TV hanging from the centre then about 2 hour break when a 2nd film started. The best was it got us here and yes I know we all get use to all the IFE and when it's not there you do miss it

We had a similar plane on the way back via Chicago a couple of years ago it was like a throwback to the eighties when my parent first took me to Spain.

There are running a couple of older 767's on the MAN to PHL route this summer which has no IFE - i normally fly MAN however due to this i went from LHR which is operated by one of their A330's

Hi Rick, I believe US carriers have thrown older aircraft on Man routes for years. Even afore we began flying VA PE exclusively, around 2012, we'd steer clear of the likes of AA flying from Man due to aircraft with old, uncomfortable seating. These aircraft needed refurb many years ago.

Sounds like the same plane we flew on 2 years ago from Manchester to jfk. Fortunately we knew there was no ife so filled our tablets with stuff to keep us occupied.

It sounds like the same plane we flew on about 25 years ago from Manchester to Chicago. Back then it was the first time I'd flown long haul and I loved that I could watch a couple of new films only just out at the UK cinemas on those overhead screens. We were easily pleased back then!

we were on one of those on a AA flights from EDI > JFK in 2015. Got you there which is the main thing, but yes same old TVs from the ceiling!
The connecting flight to MCO was better equipment if i remember lightly

They are replacing them for next year... there was a thread running on here.
They will be using a Boeing 787.

I avoided that route this year due to the plane being a B767.
We flew Nov 2018 with them and we were on a A330 200.

The MAN to PHL run is normally operated by one of their A330*'s, however this summer, a lot of of the routes were schedule to use the older 767's which have near 100 less seats, i know last year our flight was only approx 70% full on a a330-300

Our AA flight MAN-JFK in 2010 was the oldest plane, with the oldest flight attendants.
BA not far behind though.
