St Pete. Beach or Johns Pass?
Finally getting close to pressing Book!
Friends recommended that we stay in/near Johns Pass as some nice bars/restaurants to have a wander to in the evening and no need to use the car, just in the process of doing a dummy booking with BA for flight and hotel and they dont have any hotels in this area, they are all on St.Pete beach, can anyone let me know if there are many bars/restaurants to wander to in this area We will have already done 5 nights Disney and 5 nights Universal so looking for some relaxation but still want to be able to have a wander out in the evening. Edit to add, will have 14 year old with us so not looking for crazy nightlife Edited at 10:30 AM. |

Excited about Disney

We stayed at Tradewinds in St Pete’s Beach & there were plenty of restaurants to walk to on an evening. This was 5 years ago though, I’m presuming things haven’t changed too much x

A bit further south but we love Anna Maria island or if you want it a bit more lively Siesta Key. Have a look at Tropical beach resort. You are a stones throw from the beach, a few restaurants nearby and a free trolley to the main town. It’s lovely.

We are doing 2and a half weeks in a villa in Highlands Reserve next year and are then heading to Treasure Island beach. I spent so long looking and debating which hotel to go to. Have decided on Bilmar Beach Resort. Easy to get to places to eat at Johns Pass etc. My DD will be turning 18 on the holiday and DS will be 16. The hotel provides free paddle boarding etc. Really looking forward to relaxing on the coast after the parks plus we are flying home from Tampa 😃

St. John’s pass is a touristy shopping area. I wasn’t particularly impressed when we went. I wouldn’t want to base myself there.

We stayed near there last year for a few nights and it was very pretty. There are a few bars with live music but I am not sure what the rules are for under 21s. There is one on the beach which is absolutely lovely I think it’s called Jimmy B’s beach bar, it may have been The Toasted Monkey but they had music on all day. Was really chilled and the sand was so soft and powdery there.
Down beside Publix is a wee French Cafe and bakery that we had breakfast in and again it was excellent. Just a local owned place but worth a look. |

Just down from your hotel is a lovely restaurant, Skidders. Our friends live on 55th Avenue and eat there regularly :-)
