Investing now for next years hol :)

I have decided to invest in some shares as the market is so poor, will be able to leave them for over a year and then hopefully will pay for the whole of next years hols.

This is the only silver lining with Coronovirus I can see at the mo

Been thinking the same myself, as my pension is dropping and interest rates are so poor I'm thinking of investing a small amount from my savings.

Interesting approach, the risk is obviously much higher the shorter the period, but an event like we currently have may be a mechanism for short term gain.

Can you afford for this money to make zero profit or even a loss and still be able to pay for the holiday?

I added to my investments yesterday. Plan to continue drip feeding at these lower prices until the market picks up again. I have been waiting for a while to do this as markets looked over valued. Looking to hold for a minimum of seven years - likely longer.

Investing for one year is massively high risk as we dont really know how long this dip will last. Coronavirus is possibly what may have triggered, but there are underlying problems that may keep it down for a while. Wish I had a crystal ball.

I bought some Premium Bonds. No risk and I have won £175 in the four months I have had them. Not a huge amount, I admit but I am happy - especially if I keep winning!
