It's not that there are flights out of LGW and back into LHR, it's that people are choosing those combinations.
People are choosing those combinations because of the current pricing BA are running where the outbound flight is cheaper out of LGW and the return often significantly cheaper back to LHR. See the screen pic below for the returns from MCO on 7th September. Broadly there seems to be 2 LGW flights a day in each direction, and 1 to LHR. |

I’ve booked today, deposit only VA flights.
21/07/21 - 04/08/20 Direct MAN-MCO Return MCO-MAN 3 ad & 1 ch (my eldest will be 18 when we go so adult fare now ) £3,092.00 Not the cheapest by any means but they never are from Manchester! But... they were cheaper than this year’s flights and I don’t need to look again .

Don't need to look again?
I'm not sure you're aware how this works. The way this works is you check the prices about 10 times a day every day. If you find the price has gone up you need to immediately start a thread about how you've had a result. If you find the price has gone down, you need to start a thread about how you're gutted that you booked when you did. |

Just got 5 Adults and 1 Teen for £2,181 return from Gatwick to Tampa. Out Friday 27th August, back Friday 10th September. That's a fantastic price.

On the home page select Flights then Multi City instead of just Flights. Make sure you select LHR and LGW though not just all London. Flights from LGW though may consolidate into LHR in due course
