Credit Card Deposit On Arrival.

I'm not sure if i'm posting this in the right place but i'm hoping someone can help me out.

I'm currently planning for 2022 - however I read somewhere that when staying in Disney properties they require a refundable deposit via a credit card when you arrive.

Myself and my partner don't currently, and do not desire to own a credit card which means we won't be able to pay this via a credit card.

Does anyone know if theres a way round this, if they'd take a debit card/cash deposit on arrival instead?

If you want to charge to the room a debit card is fine, if not you can just decline charging and you won't have to provide a card at all.

Worth noting though that some Hotels will require a "cash" security deposit( if not leaving a "swipe")- some it's the equivalent of 1 night & others 3 nights, so worth checking your Hotel's policy.

I'll just add that unless you cannot acquire one for whatever reason or one of you would have difficulty around credit then I would recommend getting a credit card. It's just a great bit of security to have when you travel abroad. You can absolutely get around the need for a credit card and it's not a necessity but I feel so much more secure esp in the US when I have a cc.

Hope you don't think I'm overstepping but I was once anti-cc and raised to stay away from them but as long as you are responsible and always pay off in full they are a great way to make your money work for you.

My issue is that I went a little crazy as soon as I turned 18 without thinking of the consequences, I�m 23 now and I�m still paying off (BUT IM ALMOST DEBT FREE WOOHOO) everything I had.

Hopefully I�ll have a much much better credit score by 2022 though and based on what you�ve said use it literally just as a safety net!

Disney Hotels are zero hold if you decline charging. As Shoobydoo says, other do vary though.
