Stunning Scenery, wildlife and our "Wonder"ful Disney friends! - Rockies & Alaska Aug 2014 - Day 14

Saturday 30th August

We arrived at Ketchinken earlier than 8am. Not sure what time, but when we woke, we had already docked, so the captain had got the emergency patient to the port.

Our character breakfast in Parrot Cay was at 9.30. It was A la carte, so we all had eggs of some kind, pancakes of waffles, pastries and muffins and juice.

It was ok, but very rushed with the characters, but we shouldn't complain as the Wonder is the only ship that does the character breakfast as far as I know.

You might have noticed our head wear in these photos - all the waiters and waitresses made hats from napkins for everyone.

After breakfast we went for a quick walk around gift shops of Ketchiken. There were lots of sales on as it was coming to the end of the season, so we grabbed some presents.

We came back and had lunch, burgers, hot dog, turkey and cranberry roll and ice cream, then went up to family crafts where we made our own bracelets.

We had a strange loud noise in our room which was apparently from the engine room. We told guest devices who came to listen.

Martin and I went out into Ketchiken and walked up to the Totem Park. We saw all the salmon in the creek.

We took some photos of the ship and walked up Creek Street and saw the historical houses.

Back on ship we met the girls at the Woody signing, just in time to get a photo.

Apparently Guest Services had been calling us while we were ashore, so we went to the desk. They said they would move us to another room, but we decided with only one day left, it was too late on in cruise. The noise was annoying though. If it had been going on all cruise, we hadn't noticed as we had been out most of the time or they had stopped by the time we were back on board.

We went to see the Comedian/Magician who was really good! Then we went to Wavebands and watched "so you think you know your family" which was very funny.

Dinner was at Tritins with the Taste of Alaska menu. The only thing I have written down is Cheese and carrot souflee which must have been a starter. So I have just posted all the photos of the meals we had that night, so you can try an guess what they are. Everything as always was very tasty though!

After dinner we went to watch the second show of "so you think you know your family" which had a different compere and wasn't as funny.

When we got back to the cabin we found a plate of chocolate covered strawberries and 2 game cards for the girls, but no explanation. So we guessed it was to say sorry for inconvenience of the noise.

It was lovely - I'm surprised they don't do it on all the longer DCL cruises.

Another great day, all caught up now, been lovely to read all your reports. We are tentatively planning an Alaskan cruise in 2017, although probably not on Disney due to the prices unfortunately!

Thank you. I still have another couple of days to add.

Alaska was stunning and DCL brilliant, but like you say, a bit expensive!
