We’re planning to do the Castaway Cay 5k during our cruise in October. I’ve done some research and it’s open to anyone age 10 and above. You book yourself onto it once you’re on the ship.

Things to be aware of:

1. It's hot normally. Really hot. They have a drinks station but there is little shade as you go around.

2. Best to register at Guest Services before the day as they have a limit on how many people can join in, you don't want to be disappointed.

3. Over 10's only.

4. You are generally herded from the ship before other people so it's a very early start. Room service for a light breakfast then meet in the nightclub normally, then off the ship and walk to the start line.

5. There are no lockers, so most people go back to the ship to shower/change. Some 'shower' in the ocean! Although there are no lockers, there is somewhere you can leave your stuff, but it's not secure.

Enjoy!

The run starts generally around 8am and it shouldn't be boiling hot at that time, but make use of the drinks stations!
