Stunning Scenery, wildlife and our "Wonder"ful Disney friends! - Rockies & Alaska Aug 2014 - Day 12

Thursday 28th August

We docked in Skagway about 7am and went to Parrot Cay for breakfast. When we got back to the room we realised we had left our camera on the table. Luckily it had been taken to Guest Services straight away.

We walked into Skagway and walked along Broadway where there were lots of tourist shops, but very quaint. One of the shops sold popcorn and had free tasters - our favourite was Jalapeño - yum!

I took a photo of Broadway and took an old photo of one on display in the museum. It hasn't changed that much!

We walked back to pick up our tour with Chilcoot Tours. We were met by Brian, a long bearded bald ZZ Top looking man. We were the only 4 people on the tour on the minibus. He took us to the train depot to board the White Pass Train.

We were in a compartment with just 3 other people and the main tour guide. Everyone else was in the full compartments. We got fab photos and video as we didn't have to fight for space on the platforms.

After about 90 mins we were met by Brian in Fraser. We had to show passports as we were now in Canada BC. We then went back down in the minibus.

We stopped at the Alaska sign and Brian took a selfie and photo of random tourists.

We had a few photo spots along the way as we travelled back through to the US.

Brian took us to a spot to see Skagway and the cruise ships.

He was very good, informative and funny. We recommend Chicoot, especially for kids as it is cheaper than Disney who use Chilcoot. A child is classed as an adult on a Disney over the age of 9. On Chilcott it is over 12.

If was now about 3.30 and we were starving, so we grabbed a cheeseburger and chips each from Plutos.

We went back to the room for a glass of wine (you can take your own alcohol on board) while girls watched Disney channel before we went back out to Skagway to grab gifts!

The girls had a character photo with Peter Pan.

Dinner tonight was at Animator's Palet. We were about 10 mins late due to the characters and they seemed a bit hurried in the restaurant, but we then realised they were trying to get us through before the "dinner show" started.

Martin and I had cheese pasta parcels and the girls had smoked ham. We all had baked potato and cheese soup. For mains, Martin and I had steak and girls had pasta.

Dessert was cookies and cream sundae for girls, I had white chocolate brownie cheesecake and Martin had trio of desserts.

We went off to queue for Ariel and then we went to the Karaoke where a Emma sang again.
