We usually do Disney springs but this year we’re doing Volcano bay as our last few nights of the holiday is in cabana bay so we have early entry to VB. our flight isn’t till 8pm so we’ll do city walk too.

We do Disney springs as I need to squeeze in one last bit of Disney magic before we leave, we also use check in our baggage at the virgin desk too so it saves time at the airport.

If you do this make sure you have room in your hand luggage for those extra few bits that you absolutely must have before you leave.

We tend to go to Florida Mall on the last day - you are halfway to the airport then, and the worst of the traffic is behind you.

mind you, we always get a saloon with a boot, so luggage goes in there out of sight, and important stuff - passports/ticket/money etc never leaves my side.

If we buy stuff, we have a holdall (or buy one there) that gets added to our luggage.

Ask if you can have a late check out from your villa?
If new guests aren't checking in on the day you leave, many rentals are happy for you to do this at no cost; ours always is.
If this is possible, out for a last breakfast, back for villa pool time (& able to throw your stuff in the dryer before tossing them in the suitcase), shower & drive to the airport; this is invariably our last day..

Disney Springs for us, we also head their on our last day and have a wander round the shops.

Next time it will be just the two of us, so after reading suggestions on here I would like to go to one of the parks for breakfast.

We have always got up checked out of hotel, gone for breakfast then shop the last of of money at prime outlet by universal. We even drove up from Miami the last time we went back to the hotel we stayed at as DH left his trainers in the hotel room before our 4 night stay down Miami. Yes they were still there held in reception! Then went shopping lol. This year we are booked with virgin so we are making use of disney springs check in and will hang out there

We have a bit of a ritual where we check out of villa and head to DS and watch a movie at the cinema then a spot of lunch [mostly at Wolfgang Pucks] then slope off to airport
