Child Refusing Milk - What to do?

I found out this weekend our 8 year old Granddaughter has refused to drink milk any more. How weird.

She can't have eggs due to an allergy and won't have butter in sandwiches or on toast etc - weird!

In my day we would have been dosed up on cod liver or halibut oil etc etc.

What's the way forward please as to me milk is an essential staple for a child of that age. Views?

Thank you.

Edit. Bribery has failed, I tried!

It is weird isn't. Both my sons have never taken butter/margarine on toast or sandwiches. Seems strange she suddenly wont drink milk anymore.

Does she have it on cereal or in porridge, would she have it in a milkshake. My son wouldn't drink milk on its own at that age.

What about yogurts and cheese? Or will she eat “hidden” milk... rice puddings, blancmange etc...

Is she fearful of an allergic reaction ? Ie sees milk and butter as the same kind of thing as eggs and doesn’t want to risk it ? Or is it the taste ?
Does one of her friends have an intolerance?

Developed over a few weeks, would have it one day then not the next.

Has never liked 'wet' cereal. Only dry cereal and a glass of milk on the side!

Hates yoghurts and always has. Never liked 'wet' desserts apart from ice cream.

No it's definitely not an allergic reaction issue. Eggs give her red marks on her torso but nothing else. The hospital have run all the tests and it's just eggs.

My daughter doesn't eat eggs, butter, any form of oils, cream, custards or milk in any form but loves cheese! She has had this aversion since she was a very young child, probably about 3. She also has a heightened sense of smell. Weird l know but please be reassured she is now a very healthy 40 something year old.
