I’ve just started it tonight, 2 episodes in. My dh watched some if it in the summer and suggested we watch it.
So far I’m really enjoying it. I have to confess I’ve just done a little bit of background research on it but not enough to spoil anything, just enough to help me understand it a bit more.

Serious nerd moment incoming...
I wrote my undergraduate dissertation on Watchmen and the stress (combined with the death of a family member) led to a bit of a breakdown. I managed to graduate but my mental health was shot to pieces and I was worried that the series would bring back bad memories. Instead, I cried during episode 3 because I was so happy to be excited about Watchmen again! The series reignited a love that I never thought I’d get back I spent ages online discussing all the wild theories that were flying about after every episode, and trying to spot all the nods to the comic and the characters’ backstories. I don’t know what to do with myself now it’s finished 😅 I wasn’t entirely sold on the ending but overall it’s an incredible piece of television that confronts a lot of issues, much like the book. Black Wall Street was trending on Twitter after episode one- so many people didn’t know it was a real historical event with huge repercussions (if you’re interested, I’d recommend reading The Case for Reparations by Ta’Nehisi
Coates) I’m know Alan Moore won’t watch it, but I think he’d like it if he did 😂
I hope that more supplementary material gets released (though I suspect my Christmas wish for a full 8 episode series of American Hero Story will go unanswered) If season two happens I REALLY hope we get to see my two favourite characters, Nite Owl II and Silhouette. I couldn’t believe they were both missing from season one! I’ll stop there as I could go on for hours but if you’re on the fence about whether to watch it, GO AND WATCH IT NOW!

I finished it last night and I absolutely loved it. My dh had watched some of it when I was working away from home and he suggested we start again together. I think he didn’t really have much of a clue what was going on. I had a quick look online after watching the first two episodes so I had a bit of an idea of where it came from.
I thought it was so interesting and original and so well done. I really hope there is a second series.
