I am now on my 4th attempt to get my deposit back from Virgin (credit card). They refused to accept it was their responsibility, then when I sent a letter from CAA they gave me an email address to send the details to. This got a response that it was the wrong department and they would forward it to the correct department and after hearing nothing I contacted again today and they are denying a claim was ever made! They’ve said they will send me a form to complete but I’m so fed up of being sent round in circles, I’ve had to repay my deposit to re-secure my holiday but still £1000 down. How long can they drag this on for?

I think your best bet would be to go to the ombudsman and say that Virgin are not replying to the claim you've put in. Send them all the correspondence so far and leave it up to them to sort. I'm sure you will soon hear back from Virgin once the ombudsman is involved.

I received the paperwork on Friday after much chasing and I filled it in and sent it back the same day so I am hoping that it will finally be resolved. This was section 75 claim I think as the ATOL claim was rejected. Here’s hoping that it’s the last time I have to do it all!

Cannot believe this is still going on! I was one of the lucky ones who paid by DD and got money back within few weeks.

Hi are there many of you still waiting, went sent the receipts as requested and have heard nothing since. I tried the ‘right path’ route but it says that my claim number begins with a ‘z’ and ours starts with numbers ?

I hope it works for you this time.
If you paid by credit card you may have been better going the S75 route from the beginning looking at the response rate between the two. I know my learning curve is everything on CC from now on, then if something like this occurs again I’ll go that route instead of ATOL. Anyway good luck and let us know how you get on. |
